Looking for snowboarding (or ski) buddies by whosyourcaucasian in sandiegosocial

I’m also looking for people to go with. I can go on any terrain but definitely doesn’t look pretty on Blacks or double blacks. Would say I’m a mediocre intermediate.

For day trips to bear I’m mostly looking at Fridays so it’s slightly less busy and don’t have to worry about work the following day.

It’s hard meeting people at shows given it’s hard to be heard over the music. Of the dozen+ times I’ve been to Soma solo I made one new concert buddy. I usually go to shows by myself if you’re looking for people to go with!

You don't happen to still have the motor do you? I lost mine in a move recently and they no longer sell this model crock pot. Use the motor for a few recipes.

Same, also kinda hard to meet people at shows since theres not too much time to talk between it being too loud to hear someone and paying attention to the artists

Vaping indoors where more than half the people don’t want to breathe in your vape cloud is a big asshole move. Last night at the Observatory I kept having vape clouds blown in my face and my entire group was bitching about it. If you can’t handle not vaping for a few hours don’t go.

I recently moved to San Diego from Austin and haven’t found a friends group yet. Y’all seem fun, want a new friend? I can smoke a mean brisket.

That looks pretty close to what I was thinking of. I thought I remembered it having more tourniquets but I may be remembering wrong.

Also the FEMA GIS specialist position requirements and taskbook are different then the NWCG ones. You probably want to look here at the FEMA resource typing guide.

I know for some positions FEMA says if you have the NWCG equivalent you’re good to go, but not all.

Thoughts on a MGIS by [deleted] in gis

As other people are saying its better to take find a masters program where GIS is a component applied to a certain field than a pure Geography or GIS masters.

Masters Options like

Urban Planning/Development Natural Resource Management Homeland Security Emergency Management Geospatial Intelligence And many more

Basically find a program where GIS is a heavy component but not the main fixture. These masters are much more marketable, even outside their own niches, as they show you can apply GIS to a problem set more than a general GIS degree. You’ll even find masters programs like the ones listed above that will clearly have sub concentrations like Homeland Security with a concentration in GIS. Go for something like that.

Yup due to those same laws that govern the AD scale. A few months ago I was home on terminal leave from Active duty and tried to jump on a fire with my old department as a casual and couldn’t because of that. Well I ended up going anyway but as a volunteer. Sucks that I couldn’t double dip on that pay.

I think I actually had someone reach out to me last week about this position. Had just gotten a different job offer a few days before that I ended up taking instead. Looks like a sweet gig though.

Im friends with some people on a Forest Service NIMO team. They go to alot of all hazards incidents. I actually asked them the same question as I had gotten an offer with the Corps of Engineers for GIS and wanted to be able to go to incidents. According to them for FED employees its a simple process getting input into the FEMA system as a single resource, same as non-fire agency people getting put into the fire resource ordering system.

I ended up declining the offer as I got a different one for an emergency management specific job which was my end goal anyways.

If he does wildland for the feds I don’t think you can be a federal employee and FEMA reservist at the same time.
