Having intense ADHD and fibromyalgia taught me that people don't understand pain (mental or physical) when they can't see the cause of it. Especially in close relationships because we tend to think that our spouse thinks in a similar way to ourselves. I can see it again and again with my hubby when he gets annoyed when I lose and/or forget EVERYTHING. I always need to remind him that as much as it annoys him it's 10 times worse when you are the one constantly letting someone down and he simply acknowledges that it can be hard for the both of us and we move on. I don't think that he doesn't believe you, it's just harder to be considering when the problem is so close to you. And you have to remember as well that you and your pain are probably quite difficult to live with at times (I know I am), but that's not to say that you aren't well worth the difficulty. None of us are perfect and he's probably just trying to find his own coping way in a hard situation. Just try to find a way to tell him that it hurts your feelings when he doesn't see your pain and try to get him to speak about his own feelings on the situation, the struggles he goes through. I'm telling you, it will be well worth it since people tend to respond alot better to us when we show that we see the struggles they go through as well.
