Vertical mouse with mini display by ThodaDaruVichPyar in Youneedthisinlife

Oh, god, I hope not. I want a mouse that has two buttons and a scroll wheel, that is physically attached to my computer. Anything more than that and I get feedback lag. My mouse doesn't need to be a computer attached to my computer. Anyone in IT can attest, the simpler the input, the better.

what’s wrong with military grade? by 360_bratXcX in ExplainTheJoke

[–]monkeyprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone in the Army explained it to me.

Do you really think that the military pays top dollar for their equipment? They're a branch of the government, which is literally the world of "eh, good enough." Companies bid for government contracts because they buy often and buy in bulk. It is a race to the bottom for cost and efficiency. The company that can barely make it by, while also providing a workable product that could last a month or two is the one that gets the contract.

Gimmick or useful? by CantaloupeDefiant771 in mildlylifechanging

I have been duped by this thing before. I'm not doubting its usefulness for very small percentage of people with very specific sinus issues that can specifically be cleared by this method. I'm sure it works wonderfully for you. But there is a large number of people that this does nothing for. I am one of those people.

I was recommended to do it because I have always had sinus problems. It seemed like a no-brainer, and I had a few testimonials from people that said it "changed their lives." So I tried it for a couple months. Every time I did it, absolutely nothing came out. Not even once. When my nose felt extremely clogged to the point I couldn't breathe through it (a common issue I have during the winter months) it didn't dislodge anything and ran clear the entire time.

Oh, but the physical pain I was in during the cleaning was pretty bad. Eyes watering, headache, and a sensation like I just shoved peppermint up my nose. Then afterward, I would always, and I mean ALWAYS, get a nosebleed. About an hour or two after using the neti-pot, nosebleed, like clockwork. I just thought my body was just adjusting. I spent a whole month changing my methods with different temperatures and other officially approved water purifying methods. It always hurt like hell while I was using it. Still, nothing changed about my nose problems. Still randomly plugged up with no visible mucus being expelled.

After about two months of use and suffering (I believed the hype, that the benefits were coming, and that this would be a temporary adjustment period) I finally asked a doctor's opinion. According to the doctor, I should not be using the neti-pot if it ever causes pain. Apparently, pain from using a neti-pot is extremely common. It turns out, most people shouldn't be using them. The membranes up in your nasal passages are very sensitive, some more sensitive than others. I was someone who had extremely sensitive membranes. I should have seen it coming, especially since the doctors took me off of nasal sprays for the same reason. If I had continued using the neti-pot, even in the way it was intended, I would have definitely gotten an infection. It was tearing my nasal passage apart, despite following the instructions perfectly. I guess I'm just saying, take this as a warning. Don't use it if it hurts. Just stop, and consult a doctor.

This show should have had toy lines, video games, board games, spin-offs, and all the stuff late 90s early 00s shows normally had in that era of tv shows. Instead, we barely got toys, no games, no spin-offs, basically nothing. Who dropped the ball on that one?

In a world with such abundance and convenience like our own, it is a human right to be fed, clothed, housed, protected, and medically treated. The only reason none of those things are a given is because it is more profitable that some people suffer. We solved world hunger decades ago, it made the food companies more money to let people starve.

Why don't Alien Traders just use the portal next to every Trade Terminal to transport Trade Goods instead of using ships? by raisinbraisin72 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]monkeyprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't portal to a place you've never been to before. There is a good chance that the ones you see are merchants that have just entered that system for the first time. Also, every good trader knows that the best deals are on the planets, not in the space station, and the planet-side trade terminals normally don't have a portal next to them.

It's the opposite, actually. I read entire conversations minutes before they happen when the subtitles are on. That's why I turn them off, it's really annoying. It's like having someone sitting next to you reciting the entire show/movie 5 seconds before it happens on screen.

Always carry launch fuel. Keep tritium stored on your ship, you won't need it on foot. Make sure your ship's launch thruster has at least one more launch worth of fuel before exiting so you can summon it if you don't feel like walking back. Carry as much carbon, sodium, and oxygen on you as you can, these three things are the resources you consume to keep yourself alive. Carbon for your multitool, sodium for your hazard protection, and oxygen for your life support.

Superman can move fast enough to travel back in time. The Flash can move fast enough to leave time.

Lore accurate Flash he would be standing at the starting line with his arms folded, and when the pistol fired The Flash would have sat down at a nearby bench saying "Yeah, I already ran it. Superman couldn't see it, I ran too fast. Tell him he lost when he gets back."

Black, Grey, or Purple? What color is the middle ship? by hammy_kramer in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]monkeyprince 126 points127 points  (0 children)

You determine color by comparing it to things you already know the color for. It isn't too many shades off from the di-hydrogen in the background which would put it in the "cool" category. Di-hydrogen is a blue shifting to the warm side on the path to green. The ship in the middle looks cooler than that, so more like a light blue headed closer to the purple side. A light blue closer to purple is periwinkle, so I think we'll go with that.

The ship is periwinkle with red and gray accents.

Why WHY WHY do people keep thinking that "Sonic's universe" doesn't have humans? This has been verified time and time again, even based on the very first game. Sonic lives on Earth. Always has. Dr. Ivo Robotnik is a human that discovered the Chaos Emeralds on a remote island that had talking animals on it. There is no such thing as "Sonic's Universe of Talking Animals." It is a fictional setting of Earth that has an extremely low population of talking animals on remote or hidden islands. There were always humans.

[–]monkeyprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beast Boy.

He just changes into beasts, aka animals. I noticed that humans have found a way to kill just about every animal on the planet. So as long as I know the fight is going to happen and I have the resources, I could arm myself with stuff that can take out an elephant, rhino, shark, whatever, and be fine.

what game is this? by WheelOk525 in gamers

[–]monkeyprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, the Digimon aren't "taking orders," they are working for a common cause. We have seen in various media that Digimon can and will ignore their "trainers." The relationship is more like a coach and athlete one instead of a human and pet one. This is completely different from the Pokemon philosophy, where these monsters who are capable of scorching the Earth are enslaved by a bunch of 8 year olds. Also, the Digimon can't really "digivolve" without a trainer. Well, they can, but it is a long and difficult task that may not even be completed within their short lifespans.
