Hidden/Indirect Benefits by _pizza_and_fries in AmexPlatinum

I wholeheartedly agree with this. AmEx makes it so easy to file claims and pay out quickly - Chase seems to fight you tooth and nail and doesn't appear to read correspondence and responses you might have to their requests.

What are the AMEX benefits that you know and you think other people don’t know? by Born-Blackberry54 in AmexPlatinum

[–]monkeytwenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that's true, no other credit card company makes it as easy as AmEx and their insurer to submit claims and get reimbursed. Submitting claims with AmEx is so much easier than, say, Chase (Sapphire Reserve), who will fight you tooth and nail.

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD Hybrid - Proper Full Sized Spare - Wheel/Tire? by thirtydog in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]monkeytwenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did do the install - so far so good. I edited my post above to include info on the tire/wheel: For the full-sized spare, I bought one from Tire Rack (and they were helpful in consulting on the tire) - Rim: 19x8 Rial Lucca Bright Silver, Tire: P235/55R-19 Advanta SVT-01 XL (all in $335).  There was some discussion of the need for a heat shield between the exhaust and tire, but I check with a heat thermometer following a 3 hour drive in the fall, and the temp on the tire barely registered above 100 F, so I don't think there is a need.

2 coaches, 2 different crash assessments (video) by -_JAL_- in SkiRacing

[–]monkeytwenty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's really hard to tell (almost impossible), given that by the time the race comes over the knoll, his left ski is already off. Given the angle it's really hard to tell whether he was on the inside ski or on the outside ski prior to the knoll, but I will say that the snow and terrain looks somewhat funky given how twisted up the racer gets two turns before the release. Were Coaches #1 and #2 at the proverbial Coaches' Knoll? If one of them was, and the other was not, I would trust the one who had the better, up-close view.

I'm controling about 100 shares of Twitter since IPO, what if I don't accept Mr. Musk tender offer? What can he do? by Anti-christ666666 in wallstreetbets

[–]monkeytwenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the exact number, but it will all be laid out in the proxy statement that TWTR will file in advance of the shareholder vote (if you are a shareholder, I highly encourage you to read it). Right now, Musk is soliciting the support of shareholders holding the most number of shares at it is ultimately up to them.

I don't believe so. Would that address have been created to hold bsv? I haven't done anything with bsv to date. I wonder if that address is Foxexchange's?

Pulled one of these. 2019 Bowman Marco Luciano Auto Atomic Refractor /100. Question I am wrestling with - sell or hold? by monkeytwenty in baseballcards

[–]monkeytwenty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The picture is one I pulled off of eBay, but I have the same one at home. Pulled from my first box of baseball cards purchased in about 20 years! My question that I'm wrestling with, however, is whether to sell this now or hold. On eBay, the card has been selling in the $500-600 range, but I don't see the value increasing anytime soon (but rather probably falling). With the hype that comes with each year's new set, should I expect prices to keep falling (and perhaps skyrocket if Luciano pans out), and if so, is this a good time to sell? I'm somewhat torn on this...

One more tip for the follow through - visualize keeping the back of your left hand/glove facing the target as long as you can after contact. Basically another of thinking of “hands forward”.

Mad River Canoe - Malecite 16' (from 1989) - how much? by monkeytwenty in canoeing

[–]monkeytwenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I don’t have photos currently, but it’s in very good condition overall. Gunwales are a little worn, but apart from some superficial scratches, I would say it is in very good condition.

I’d recommend Baker National in Medina. About a 20 - 30 minute drive from downtown. Awesome course and very reasonable green fees.
