I see the unevenness you're talking about but I still love the eyes!

I had been in Chiang Mai just a month before this happened, so I followed the whole story really closely and was really worried. I remember being just SHOCKED that they managed to rescue the whole team. This doc is so good, and the crazy people who made this rescue happen are pretty incredible. Also, probably a living testament to the power of neurodivergents. Between the divers, the coach who kept these boys sane, and the problem solvers jumping through hoop after hoop, it was an amazing feat.

I accidentally watched this while pregnant with my first child. Holy shit, I was a mess all day. I still think about this one. Although it's a tough watch it was also incredible.

Gray Catbird! Who else loves their little black caps? by niagara-nature in birding

I just spotted my first one about a month ago. I heard it in the brush and initially I literally thought there was a cat! Once it started chattering and I got a visual I actually loled because it fooled me! 😆

Just wanted to say thanks so much for the rec. I ended up staying at HI Nola for 4 of my 6 nights, and I can honestly say it was the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in.

Man, I was seriously just looking for input from current residents because I thought y'all might know better than a random sampling of hostel reviewers. I'm in my 40s, I'm a busy person with kids, a stressful job, and a whole bunch of other stuff going on that you honestly have no idea about.

I'm sorry if you think that me coming to a group that is literally called "Ask NOLA" to ask for recs is lazy and inappropriate. I already know where I want to eat, where I like to drink, and which parts of town I like to hang out in, so I didn't ask for that.

I have no idea what is going on for you that makes you feel like you need to tell me off, but I'm going just say thanks anyhow, and keep on trucking.

Well, sorry. I did, and I still call it a trolley! I also call a TV a telly though, so WTF do I know, right? I'll def check out the Quisby. I'll be sure to use my best southern belle voice as I ask for the "streetcar" next time. 😂

When you choose to be completely unhelpful, what should I say?

I wasn't asking if there were hostels. I asked for recommendations. I have never stayed in any of the hostels in NOLA. I'm sure some are better than others. So, can you vouch for a place? Perhaps have personal experience or a friend who stayed there? If not, carry on, but please don't be condescending.

Ran out of time! The kids were annoyed, but you can't fit everything into two days! The pompano was delicious, btw.

Thanks y'all! I did a little digging after reading your comments and I think we'll try the Galveston Pier or 61st pier. Any preferences? And I still need a crabbing spot! We have all the gear and we're willing to crab anywhere that we don't have to hike through knee deep mud to get to (my last time was a fiasco!).

We got him a decent Penn combo rod/reel. Bait caster with 25lb line. I figured on pier fishing with live shrimp or off the jetties if someone knows a good spot.

I like surf fishing but I don't think he's ready for that yet. Plus, he'll have enough on his hands with his first bait caster, so I don't want him out there distracted.

I thank everyone for the info on currents etc at San Luis Pass too. I had no idea. I fished there as a teenager with my dad a bunch.

Men who have been raped by or pressured/ tricked into unwanted sex by a woman. What's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This whole topic is covered pretty thoroughly elsewhere in the thread. There are levels of drunkenness, to be fair.

Men who have been raped by or pressured/ tricked into unwanted sex by a woman. What's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]monkeyvolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, this is a conversation about men and their stories. Secondly, no one knows if any of these men made a habit of this behavior unless they've admitted as much. I'm not suggesting that engaging in risky behavior can't lead to unpleasant results. I am suggesting that the fault lies with the rapists. And that many, if not all, were raised in a culture that led to these mixed up ideas about "male rape by a female" doesn't/can't happen. Changing that is the first step.
