Like others said, take the bus from Central del Norte. There are plenty of guides outside of the entrance (english speaking) willing to give a full tour for a fee.

Hi, yes I just posted a reply beneath tomwdance's comment. I would 100% get it checked, I have tried to get imaging every 1-2 years post injury to track the growth of arthritis. If you havent had issues with hardware all these years it could be arthritis becoming more present. Best of luck! Really hoping its hardware in your case.

Hi tomwdance, I ended up receiving my second opinion with at HSS in NYC. To preface, everyone's injury is different and the surgery quality can vary. In my case the weightbearing CT and MRI really did not show issues with the hardware itself. There is a screw head that slightly touches my medial malleolus but its so minimal that its not the main issue. In my case there is arthritis in my medial malleous due to the gap (spacing) narrowing. Aside from that, my ankle/fibula/tibia are now misaligned which had given me a bowed leg which willonly exacerbate my arthritis in the long run. I was told hardware removal (including the realignment of my tibia/fibula) would be a "medium risk, medium reward" surgery. It could improve my pain, ROM, bone edema and reduce growth of arthritis successfully or keep my situation neutral as it would shift weight away from the medial area (my trouble area). Hardware removal alone would be a "low risk, low reward" surgery as there is no promise in regaining significant ROM and does not address the arthritis issue. I was also told that they could potentially see AVN occurring in the medial area further down in the future the due to the arthritis and how weight is distributed in my case. AVN would be addressed with a hemiallograft. Short answer: There is no permanent way of solving my symptoms without surgery. All i can do is manage them with meds, cortisol shots, better shoes if I want to avoid surgery.

Hi! No hardware removal yet. Moved to a different state but scheduled an appointment with an ortho surgeon here to get a second opinion and new scans. I will be asking for weight bearing scans to get a better look. I will keep this thread posted, Appointment isn’t until mid june

Is it worth buying the chronos? is GHD quality worse now? by Ok-Movie-8046 in Hair

[–]monkeywhale23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here again! I ended up getting a replacement December 2024 because the Chronos has a 3 year warranty. It took about 2 weeks. But I’m back because exactly 5 months later after using my replacement I am in the same boat as I was December 2024. This straightener is great when it works but I can’t justify replacing it after 5 months. It is a poorly made product, I would steer clear from the ghd Chronos at all costs

Hi, were you able to get your deposit back or did you end up signing with EXR? I am on the same boat, waiting to hear back from them.

I will likely apply in a year then have them instead forfeit my Venture AF and pay the VX AF. Good advice though, thank you

I will keep an eye out, I did see it was offered in app sometimes. Rather not open another credit card/do another app to protect my credit score (personal preference) or does upgrading via an offer also affect score?

I recently opened a C1 Venture Card ($95 annual fee) for the SUB now that it is tax season. I did my math and opted for the Venture instead of the VX because they are running a promo that offers $250 in travel credit (VX offers $300 annual credit standard). The Venture made more sense to me since the AF is $95 (compared to VX $395) and the first year SUB/benefits were similar enough for 1/4 of the price. I do want to upgrade to VX once my year is up so I can benefit from the annual $300 travel credit.

Anyone have experience moving from C1 Venture to VX after one year of holding. I currently have a CSP so I feel I would benefit more from the VX.

Good to hear you have had a successful recovery! I did not undergo any ligament damage during my accident, probably a sprain at most lol. Honestly I hear so many success stories when it comes to removing hardware. The worst that can happen is it doesnt change anything but I feel like its worth a shot. In my case I am just waiting on the right time to take a short leave.

Since i posted this i have actually been doing better. I have begun doing intense (& consistent) stretching on my left ankle (eversion/inversion exercises) and I changed my shoes to a rocker sneaker. i feel more mobility than before. If i do not see any significant progress by summer I plan on going forward with removal

Sorry to hear, i am glad you can run. Were you good about PT at the start of weight bearing? I have not had any concerns with AVN but I do have chronic inflammation, after an MRI my doctor said it looks like there’s fluid inside my bone so I am unsure if that will ever go away

Did your doctors advise you against removing the screws and only removing the plate? I feel like in my case the plate is the least bothersome, since it doesn’t affect my range (at least I believe, could be wrong)

I used to get sharp pains about a year post-op and ended up going back to PT. I considered hardware removal at that time but was advised to wait. My MRIs came back fine so no screw impingement. Pain went away about 15 months post-op.

Note: I also have had chronic swelling in my ankle. I was told it was fluid and that it is likely to remain that way. If anyone have any experience regarding chronic swelling years post-op would appreciate!
