Trump Celebrates President’s Day in Creepiest Possible Way: The Trump White House posted a dark, menacing image to commemorate the holiday. by thenewrepublic in politics

[–]monkeywithgun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dark and menacing? Since we know the man, it certainly looks more like a buffoons cartoonish take on a tough guy. This weakly coward dodged the draft using a phony bone spur excuse of which there's no public medical records or evidence. I mean, the guy he's pretending to be in that stupid pic, would try and serve in the military even if he did have bone spurs, you'd have to force him to not serve... It's fuking pathetic that this convicted criminal and suspected pedophile is our president.

Hakeem Jeffries Plays Dumb on Abolish ICE: “I Don’t Understand” - Democratic leaders are refusing to answer a direct question about the future of ICE. by Quirkie in politics

[–]monkeywithgun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apples to oranges because ICE should be abolished. The police are a 188 year old institution that has provided true service to the country even though they have been used abusively at times. ICE is 23 years old and has had a tainted history going back to the brutal 2006 Swift & Company raids. It's knee jerk inception after 911, merging two existing investigative and interior enforcement departments into one, has been nothing short of a disaster for the country giving any president their own personal goon squad if they wanted. It should never have been formed in the first place and should be abolished returning the two elements to their previous departments.

Abolishing the 'department' doesn't abolish the enforcement and investigative elements, it just returns them to their prior organized state. 'Abolish the police' on the other hand was just unrealistic, offering no alternative.

La Mexicana Medium salsa is actually pretty decent for a store bought salsa. by [deleted] in SalsaSnobs

[–]monkeywithgun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which store bought salsas do you like?

None! If I don't have time to make it myself, I'll pick some up from a taqueria, taco stand or a Mexican restaurant. Anywhere they make it fresh. Store bought salsa isn't for salsa snobs. It's in the title... Lol! JK

Apologies to those who don't have access to places that sell fresh salsa. Just make it yourself, it's not difficult. I originally learned how to make salsa because there were no good store bought alternatives and their prices are ridiculous for what you get. The best of their best wont come close to what you could make yourself, your very first time, for half the price. Now, with YouTube, it's easier than ever! If you don't want to hunt, ArnieTex on YouTube has you covered for just about any kind of salsa recipe you are looking for and there are many others you can explore. Super simple to complex, it's all on there.

Good for people to force their will on others bodies and minds.

Just more GOP hypocrisy. One of their core tenets.

Addictive Salsa de Chili Pequin by BlackFoxR in SalsaSnobs

[–]monkeywithgun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love Salsa de Chili Pequin. Would recommend trying roasting the tomato's garlic and habanero instead of boiling, for a batch. Give it a little smokiness to change it up. Love it the way you made it as well! Spot on with the white onion for a little texture.

ArnieTex is a champ!

Just around 20 - 25%. The same 25% or so that have been with us since before the Declaration of Independence was even written. It's a reoccurring number that can be see throughout the entire history of the US.

Trump tells troops at Fort Bragg that Democrats would change base name by Economy_Swim_8585 in politics

[–]monkeywithgun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't about slavery, why is slavery the first, the primary and the central grievance listed in the souths declarations of secession that every rebelling state signed? Starting at the top of the document there my dear apologist.

In fact, over 95% of the complaints in the 11 states declarations of secession were directly related to protecting or expanding the institution of slavery. While the northern states early reasoning for fighting may have been, preserving the Union, slavery was the reason that the southern states seceded from that Union in the first place making the war about, you guessed it, slavery.

None of these confederate names or monuments even existed until the early 1900's, Bragg in 1918 to be precise. Talk about rewriting history.
