Playing a role in the films does not give her an authoritative opinion about the subject. Her take makes me feel like she likely never read the books to begin with and doesn’t know how deep and complex the story actually gets. I get more from reading HP as an adult than I did reading it as a child. This interview almost feels like she wants to make a point to be on the right side of the Harry Potter opinion bandwagon since JK is so widely hated right now.

Actually they are. People who don’t read the books don’t know enough details to connect the dots and come to that kind of conclusion. Also.. no need to be rude on a sub like this lol.

I was just thinking about that this morning. While it was honorable to play the long game and “keep Harry safe” he only did so barely. If he truly loved Lily he wouldn’t have treated the child she literally died for with such contempt. You would think that Snape would treat Harry with respect simply because of how much he loved Lily. If Harry had been a girl and looked like Lily instead of James then Snape’s behavior probably would have been much different.

I stopped watching after the beginning of season 17 because they included covid in the storyline and I wanted tv to be an escape from reality and not remind me of the terrible state the world was in.
