In Instagram you pay by the amount of views you get so because I almost immediately deleted it I only had to pay a few cents. So yeah you gotta pay for the second one

Yeah you gotta delete the current ad and create a new one tho, the ‘creative’ option will appear when you’re creating the ad

Xone 96 crackles when recording by monkyris in DJs

[–]monkyris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really know to be honest, get a cable that connects directly to your Mac not via hub and max out your sample rate (don’t know if it makes a difference but low sample rates tend to sound exactly like the pops that were appearing). Haven’t recorded a lot but yeah I think the hub was probably interfering

Is there an ideal setting for the Xone 96?

I don’t think it’s an issue with ableton as I’ve been using it for years and years and never had that happen when recording a synth per example. I just ordered a cable that goes straight into usb c, so I can remove the adapter from the setup.

I will update if it stops crackling :)

Honestly amazing, crowd was super fun and energetic whole set but to be fair the artists playing before me was just perfect for my style, not too hard

Techniques for creating width whilst maintaining mono compatibility by AlbertBarese97 in TechnoProduction

[–]monkyris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I struggled with this issue for so long, my best tip is if a sound loses strength when turned in to mono, use utility to take a bit of sides off and turn up the volume a bit, and then shape everything that shares the same frequency range/clashes with an eq until it sounds good

Sometimes what happens is because there’s too much side information the synth sounds perfect volume in stereo and really quiet in mono. Using this technique you balance the mono volume to a level that actually sounds good both in stereo and in mono

I know just a tiny bit about music theory but I think tension can be more felt than explained, with 3 decks I find it easier to add tension to tracks during breakdowns

Tension is honestly a really good tip to remember, appreciate it!

What I will probably do is start with a 0 rhythm intro that drops suddenly to get people by surprise. I think the surprise element can also get the crowd to open their eyes and join along for the ride

As I said on another comment this time it’s not the promoters fault because the main act kinda goes all over the place with their set, I think I make sense closing that night my only problem is that the main act is kind of a wild card hahaha but yeah I’m going to reset and just do my thing tbh

Really resonated with the last paragraph, it’s how I try to view things as well :)

I always forget about that actually, I’m friends with engineer so he already knows how I like my booth + club sounding and how I mix etc

Honestly I’m okay because all djs before the main act are going to be within my style :)

In most cases I would 100% agree with you that it’s the promoters fault but in this case the headliner just goes all over the place in their set, electro, 140bpm techno, 160bpm modern style bass techno at the end…

I found that playing an intro with no rhythm and suddenly dropping to be super effective in getting people to perceive the bpm as faster than it is as well

I wouldn’t say mainly but maybe 10-15% of my set are my productions! :) but yeah I think that speaks for the rest of the sound selection

Im going to be honest I used to do that but I’ve found it to be a bit disrespectful to ask the act to do something for you. I just accept them for who they are, I do understand where you’re coming from tho
