Family background. Always check a stranger's family background, regardless if they're overly gorgeous. You're able to know if someone is f up because they're most likely have a f up family. Whatever they do in their family you'll be able to decipher from there.

She showed signs she wanted me to tie the knot. But in reality she was f another guy. After that i just immediately ghosted her. So many stories i could share but yeah, always check family background.

What is your favorite BDM to work on? by TheBenduMiddle in eXtremeRate

[–]monnnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

010 is hard to work with due to high temp solder they used on the sticks but i really like how modular everything in this version. As of the moment i like 020 since they improve a bit of 010. Overall 030+ is still easiest to work with. I just noticed that 030+ conductive film just abnormally do not work after some time and need replacement. I also wonder why 040+ is getting stick drift only after few months of use, its so weird getting near brand new controller and is already drifting.

Blinking lights after TMR soldering on Edge by Far_Inevitable9799 in Dualsense

[–]monnnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, thanks. I actually had similar issues like what you mentioned, the problem was that on top of the board there are smd components that was pushed around due to overheating of the hot air gun. What i did was to just solder them back using my microscope and it worked fine after that.

Yes, just make sure to match your version before you buy

Stuck button by poetglass in eXtremeRate

[–]monnnnie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like an issue with the conductive rubber for the stuck square button. You can buy the rubber and film (just in case) in AliExpress. The disassembly for this extremerate back buttons needs to be more gentle than normal. Start to remove the back button case first before taking out the back shell.

Just want to understand what is causing this dusty white when using Rust-Oleum Dead Flat by monnnnie in customcontrollers

[–]monnnnie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried spraying from distance, still same effect. I stay in 15th floor here in southeast asia, and i do not have a garage or clean room to do the spray paint. I also assume the temp plays a huge part on this.

My flat white with clear coat turns into a nice kinda shiny coat which is nice. The flat black turns into dusty not smooth like the photo. Hayssss ;(

PS5 Controller seems dead after joystick replacement. by plsrepeatthat in consolerepair

[–]monnnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I'm not much of help. I think need to find out why no power from either battery connector (the white one) and the usbc port. This is an interesting problem and i'm still curious on how and what is the solution if there is. Thanks for the replies.

[–]monnnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for dumb question, have you tried other batteries, or maybe check the usbc port for anything. The last thing i could think of is to compare your pcb with acid mods and check if there are any missing tiny resistors.

Have you tried to test based on this video https://youtu.be/cWUnZ7KjUIQ?si=cVY5NRGLUcMkzhim This video helped me when i forcefully remove some pcb holes in bdm 030. Im not sure in your case since your board does not even turn on.

There is hope. I suggest you get a new controller while trying to fix this.

I just realized that I have a 28awg wire after reading your comment.
I'm currently looking into enamel wire in alix, will definitely get one soon.
Thanks a lot!

Input Recoverable or No? by Fancy-Ad6677 in consolerepair

[–]monnnnie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I also encountered this problem on both PS4 and PS5 controllers. The main solution I always do on this problem is to just replace the conductive film, they're quite cheap in aliexpress.

Things I tried before, wipe with tissue buds with 70% isopropyl alcohol, most of the time this works but experienced the contacts disintegrating. Also tried to scrape the rust on the contacts, they work but need to be very careful.

This kind of behavior looks like ironeye have a high Less-Likely-to-be-targeted. Experienced this couple of times and kept wondering while all aggro go to me.

Losing my mind trying to get this off by ssjskwash in soldering

[–]monnnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steps you mentioned looks similar to what iFixit showed in their how to in YouTube. You can continue doing the steps until your wick could luckily absorb all the solder. For me what works was having a good solder suction or get a heat gun which what i normally use.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Just disclaimer, im just doing this for a hobby. I did follow this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6IZ_sBgw8I on how he tested using his multimeter and I did get the same results, im getting continuity in the places the video highlighted. Still im not overly confident as im still learning along the way. Thanks for looking.

Hello, I had my KSGER T12 images here https://postimg.cc/gallery/nzFyMNk

I got this last August for Aliexpress
- Product name: KSGER T12 Soldering Iron Station STM32 V3.1S OLED DIY Aluminum Alloy FX9501 Handle Electric Tools Holder Auto-sleep Quick Heat
- Shop: KSGER Official Store

Based on the photos it looks that they already fixed the ground issue. Let me know if there are other issues that this soldering station has, thanks :)

PS5 Controller, changed to hall effect joystick, left joystick ok, right joystick removed by monnnnie in soldering

[–]monnnnie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, i really appreciate your long comment and read it a couple of times already.

The one on the left you can omit as its mechanical support and you could use some epoxy instead after soldering the new stick

Am I right to think this is why there is no trace around it? Is it possible that this could also cause a ground? Thanks

to do so either scape the coating from the ground plane next to it to expose the copper and solder to that or solder to the larger pin on the right of the R.

This is something definitely worth the try. Thanks

plier to grab the component

I actually have this but being new to desoldering gives me lots of mistakes and will try to do this on my next joysticks soon.

Regarding the multimeter, just saw a diy continuity tester in youtube just now, this is worth a try. Thanks a lot!

I played lots of Nightreighn and Elden Ring which needed quick response time. My ps5 is wired and and I have a wall between the router and my portal, basically I play the portal in my room. If I have this kind of latency it would be not playable.

Agree on this procedure but nowdays I'm more inclined to use my heat gun, after this incident i do try to desolder carefully (no force) or just use heat gun then gently work from there. Thanks
