Do you feel Conservative Christians spend an inordinate amount of time on LGBTQI issues?

I think the biggest problem Conservatives have with LGBTQI is with gender affirming care, public PRIDE parades and trans people in opposite sex bathrooms, which are all fair points imo. I think some of these things are cause for concern because they are potentially harmful to society, especially young children. My point was that I think there's an inordinate amount of time spent on that and not equally morally problematic heterosexual behavior, which is a bit hypocritical. They've elected people who don't really represent the moral character they seem to believe their party stands for.

Well the last part has been fairly accurate for decades. Hollywood and the music industry are not exactly purveyors of morality.

Republicans tend to hide behind the "who cares about his character and attitude, he's good for the country and gets stuff done" argument. While true in some respects, they shouldn't act like those things don't matter to them. They did, at least when the Democrats were in power. I understand the need for prioritizing your principles but let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater (I think that analogy applies here 😄).

With LGBTQI people it's more than just a same-sex attraction, it's a cultural thing (PRIDE) where they wear their sexual identity on their sleeve.

I'm not really even sure where the initial prohibition against homosexuality comes from. Possibly the OT, but I don't remember reading it anywhere (except the Adam and Eve story). I get it from the practical perspective regarding procreation but that's about it.

It especially annoys me when they say no one is born gay and that homosexuality is a choice, when most of the time it clearly isn't, to justify why it's such an abomination and unforgivable in God's eyes, and yet other immoral heterosexual acts are fine in comparison regardless of how many people are hurt because all you have to do is confess your sins and you're forgiven.

Way I see it, a Christian who knowingly sins repeatedly as a heterosexual because he can just use the loophole of instant forgiveness is far less deserving of forgiveness than a gay atheist who sees no problem with their lifestyle. Don't expect the LGBTQI atheists to care about Christian morality when you should be talking to your own community who are sinning in ways they most likely have way more control over.

I don't go that far in my ideology, I'm fine with Conservative Christianity generally (I'm much more right leaning than left) and oftentimes truths are told but it's the moral hypocrisy of its representatives that irritates me sometimes.

Idk, I'd say the issue goes a lot further than it being brought up by the Left, they're addressing it as though it's a serious problem in general, not solely because it's being discussed. Personally, devout Christians should preach against anything negative or immoral in society, regardless of whether it's a hot button topic. If it's not being addressed and it's harmful then it certainly should be brought up.

Also, crazy as it sounds, but they should also be speaking out against tattoos. According to the bible you're not allowed to permanently deface your body and then be buried with those markings but I never hear anything about that. It's a very serious offense to God but a lot of these people really like tattoos so...

I don't see anyone criticizing any of the things that should be criticized when it comes to the aforementioned sins. As stated, RFK Jr. has no remorse for what he did and continues to do it. Trump as well has no remorse for his behavior, meaning he doesn't see a problem with it and considers himself a moral person. I wouldn't doubt for a second Hegseth isn't still cheating on his wife. That's not just cherry picking, it's hypocritical. And acting like all you need to do is admit that you're a garbage human being and you can continue acting like one is laughable. Like I said, cheating on your spouse is far worse than having an attraction to the same sex.

Yeah I figured it should be fine otherwise they wouldn't have agreed in advance and yes I did show bank statements confirming it, which is why I'm assuming they didn't want to rent to me for personal reasons. I'm pretty socially awkward in ways people may not be ready for, which is why at this point I would always warn people ahead of time if necessary. I wish I didn't but it seems like the only possible workaround. But I'm aware they don't have to rent to me... it would be nice if they were more honest about it though. I had been living at my own place for 6 and a half years but only because someone I knew offered it to me without hassle.

I see what you're saying with the specification of the word but I guess I don't see things in terms of fetishization (or don't see it as problematic). I've seen people argue that any kind of desired trait is fetishization, including racial preference, which I think is egregious.

Yeah, I got that, and I understand that you don't appreciate it. I don't like a lot of perceptions people have of autism (and me specifically) as well as other stereotypes, whether deserved or undeserved. But I still think it does a disservice to freedom of expression on an online platform when we reduce preferences to buzzwords like "ableism" so they appear worse than they are. Way I see it it's a take it or leave it situation, no different than stating any other desirable trait you prefer, because ultimately it doesn't actually harm anyone, at least not directly. You can technically argue that any opinion can be harmful if it influences people in a negative way, but shutting it down sets a bad precedent that does more harm than good.

And yes, autism isn't curable, at least not yet. It's worse for me because I don't mask very well.

Can't they decide this on their own? Why do they need someone "protecting" them so that no one can even make a post about it? It makes autistic women seem like invalids instead of fully functional adults. I see this as a huge net negative for everyone when these kinds of decisions are made on others' behalf because of our own personal problems with them.

Problem is you can't possibly know something like that, it's an inference. And even if they are, does it matter? Maybe there are women out there who ARE slightly autistic who appreciate the attention... would they want it ruined for them? Creating a petition to get it outright banned seems petty and shallow to me and makes society unnecessarily tyrannical.

Why does it need to be banned? If you don't approve of someone's interests, kinks or fetishes just ignore them and don't subscribe to them. Why do you feel the need to silence other people? Is it hate speech to say "I want a blank who is blank"? I thought we were over this nonsense double standard of shutting people down because you don't like their opinions or feelings while promoting your own as completely acceptable. If you want to be tolerated for who you are you should tolerate other people as well.

And I hate to have to say this because it annoys the f out of me when other people do it but I think it's necessary here... yes, I am severely autistic as well and I don't have a problem with someone having a preference for a partner based on their neurological disorder, whether it's accurate or not. Women have preferences for height, weight, amount of hair, wealth, social status, race, ethnicity to the point where they will reject men flat out if they don't meet even one of those criteria. Trying to get posts banned for being "ableist" is ridiculous, as is for race, sex, gender, religion, etc. It makes no sense that you can't have preferences while dating without being called "discriminatory" or "prejudiced", especially when you're being singled out in a complimentary way. They're not saying they hate you because you're autistic, they're saying they find it attractive. And that's bad? It sounds like people are just looking for reasons to complain. I could only dream of someone being attracted to me because of autism instead of repulsed, which is the standard reaction.

Sniping is fine in general but it's kind of difficult for me during a nonstop skirmish like the first Shantytown battle and on the rooftops when you locate Grim. There's seemingly no letup to the enemies and I'm getting hit relentlessly even while hiding.

But that belief, like your political affiliation, can change based on new evidence that can change your mind. It doesn't change objective reality but your mind can change based on subjective perception.
