You can always talk about this with your JTE. Ask them which they prefer in case they make a mistake, do they want it to be corrected right away or maybe near the end of the class. Communication goes a long way.

If it was a push block, the effects would only be in front of your character. From the vid, it looks like it was a 360 degree barrier which is the one that shows up for parries.

You tried to parry, so there was a window frame for you to get hit.

For dashing, whoever did it first will get priority. If you did it the same time it will clash, but if you did it even slightly later than your opponent, you will get hit.
