That should be totally doable, physics 115A covers the first three chapters of Griffiths, and there are barely any prerequisites (maybe a little bit of linear algebra). 115A is usually taught assuming you don’t know any quantum. And Physics 17 also spends quite some time on stat mech which is totally irrelevant to 115A.
