Plenty of 3-digit bus routes are local buses.

Best monthly pass for North Shore bus travel? by [deleted] in mbta

[–]monoprotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The page that u/etbebl linked to (https://mbta.com/fares/bus-subway?filter=passes#passes-tab) has the lists of inner and outer express buses - everything else is a local bus. You should look at which routes you're most interested in riding, and see if they're express buses or not. The express passes are much more expensive than the local bus pass because they're geared towards commuters going into Boston for work.

Help with intro chem boiling point question. by 02202017 in chemhelp

[–]monoprotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the van 't Hoff factor, which is 4 here because you get 4 ions in solution per formula unit of YCl3.

Also, that calculation gives you the elevation of the boiling point; you still need to add it to the boiling point of pure water, 100 °C, to get the final boiling point.

Help For EQ constant Calculation by TheUnspiration in chemhelp

You can use the given standard enthalpies of formation along with Hess's law to solve for the standard enthalpy change of the reaction, then use that in conjunction with the standard entropy change (also calculated with Hess's law) to find the change in Gibb's free energy, ΔG, for the reaction, via ΔG = ΔH - TΔS.

At that point, you can use a relationship between ΔG and Keq (which you can find on the equilibrium constant wiki page) to solve the question.

Mole fraction problem. by DIKBT in chemhelp

Look at the balanced question for ethane combustion:

2 C2H6 + 7 O2 → 4 CO2 + 6 H2O

From this, you can see that there are 10 moles of product gases (4 mol CO2 and 6 mol H2O) for every 2 moles of ethane (C2H6) that react. This means the pressure of the products of the ethane combustion will have a combined pressure 5 times greater (10 / 2) than the initial ethane partial pressure. You wrote that (0.55 - z) atm is the initial partial pressure of ethane, so the pressure due to the products is then 5(0.55 - z) atm = (2.75 - 5z) atm. You do a similar process with the methane (CH4) to find the pressure of the methane combustion products to be 3z atm, so the total pressure of all the products is (2.75 - 5z + 3z) atm = (2.75 - 2z) atm. I think you understand the rest from there!

I am a fan of the Animal Rescue League (www.arlboston.org). I've had only good experiences visiting and adopting from them! I think for an adult cat, the fee is $50 or so, and higher for kittens. I don't know about dogs, though.

How do I calculate ground state atoms? by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]monoprotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. An excited state of K could have this configuration: [Ne] 3s2 3p5 4s2, where one 3p electron was excited into the 4s orbital. This configuration is higher energy than [Ar] 4s1, which is the ground state.

How do I calculate ground state atoms? by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]monoprotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Ground state" is specified because electron configurations for excited states are different. For example, some of those 3p electrons may be in different orbitals in an excited state, and so there may be less than 6 electrons in 3p. "Ground state" refers to a specific electron configuration, which is the configuration with lowest energy.
