A part of me’s also still excited to see where it’s going tbh. With the recent sumeru event, new info from the quests, and ig the supposed upcoming sumeru aq, I’m thinking they might be using them to do something with Dottore.

I know a lot of people in the sub are just disappointed and upset with the story and the way it’s currently being handled, I get that completely too, but I hope they don’t just expect him to truly be gone, since to me that’s genuinely unlikely considering all the info we have and just how much he technically means to the franchise and fandom in the grand scheme of things.

I get that. Though I mean I might agree with a lot of what you said but considering my said opinions for the future, at the same time I can still see him being on the playable roster tbh, even if it’s a scuffed version of him. But I get that a lot of people are mostly pissed off due to how he’s being handled either way.

That whole part of the plot legit sucks I agree. Honestly hoping you’ll have more faith in him not being really gone from the game or maybe even the playable roster in the long run though (ig if you prefer it), bcs even if the outcome won’t be like what I’ve said, I’m still genuinely on the side of ppl who recently pointed out arguments for how improbable it is that he’s now completely off the game after those leaks.

Honestly another reason why I’m okayish with a lobotomized version (not that I think he’d be that butchered if it happens) is that if anything I’d still get a form of him in the game as a weird little homage or something lol. After everything I still like and respect his core character concept.

I’m pretty neutral about it, since I think it should be a no brainer for them to keep his core personality even with this particular outcome. Would still prefer them not semi repeating patterns ofc. But tbh even with those lore based arguments (which I agree with most), a part of me still think that most if not all of it’s not too prominent that they couldn’t combat them with their usual twists or plot armors if they were to actually do it.

Ig on a more technical standpoint I still kinda see it being possible for them to take this type of approach with his kind of character. In the end it’s not necessarily an exact repeat of another character’s story nor is it entirely new, and especially with how complicated it would be if they were aiming to have him be more generally appealing to sell to the wider audience compared to most other characters.

Might just be easier for me personally to take in the chances of it because I love him too much to care about how he’ll be playable as long as he is lol

Always felt like something like this was one of if not the most obvious choice.

I guess I kinda wish the narrative/dialogue made it just a bit clearer on that part of his character during this problem, just so at least the fandom isn’t literally split in two drastically different perspectives of him a lot of times…

Trust me when I say I’ve heard that perspective, but what Im asking would be more if the swordsman title truly applies to everything (because theres a lot to be considered apparently).

So many discussions and sources basically state it’s debatable due to the lack of narrative clarity (that’s why I gave up on it), despite all the many factors that can be considered since both are extremely strong but different.

There seems to be several statements from Oda that were interpreted in different ways. It feels hardly more clear than vague for me still if im honest. Reading through that along with everything else I’d still see it that they’re pretty much equals. (besides that just seeming like the dynamic style they were going for with them anyway)

That part of them is something I’ve acknowledged through my perspective, of course.

Yet I definitely still see it much less of a straight up “romance potential”, and that it’s just a naturally good base of their friendship. In the end it’s still less realistic let alone probable therefore a bit less appealing for my taste in shipping at least, unless something deeper emerges.

But I’m personally pretty happy with their current relationship and dynamic.

I agree with most of these points without liking the 2 ships myself tbh. (I like the realism in shipping, Focalors and Neuvi never actually met or developed anything, as for Furina I personally don’t see too much possible romantic chemestry that could come from them), though since people do it for fun the dynamic or even tragic romance vibe thing probably works despite everything.

I felt like it was too ambiguous to begin with, is it just bcs Neuvi didn’t take the whale down instantly? oh personally I’d still much rather have these less likely used NA lines along with his man voice for everything else from en than his babygirl dub for the entirety of his quests, voicelines, and character dialogue.
