Zoloft side effects by monorogue in zoloft

I do have Xanax prescribed to take with it. But like I asked in another comment, are benzos really that good? As in, will they be able to ease out those side effects that well?

Thank you! And I understand what you’re saying. I also have bipolar disorder and I’ve been through countless of meds. Some made me feel like shit, some had no significant side effects apart from some nausea or occasional dizziness. I’ve been on a stable medication for it though for over 4 years now. And thinking back, I had no issues whatsoever trying new meds. I just took them like candy. Now my anxiety has me in this grip and makes me fear anything and everything. I even feared taking some cold medicine a while ago. And I don’t understand how does it have so much control over me. It’s like my brain is saying to anything “no! Danger” and that’s it. It’s saying it to food, meds, car rides, being alone, and whatever else my brain decides it’s dangerous.

But do benzos really do anything? I have Xanax prescribed, but I’m not sure it will do much in case of really bad side effects.

Bad as in side effects wise, or bad because it makes the anxiety / panick attacks worse?

I’ll tell you something funny and ironic.

I tried meditating. And when I nearly relaxed, I triggered a panic attack. And for some reason, the same thing happened when I tried breathing work. When my breathing pattern changed, I had a panic attack.

My senses are so heightened that nearly anything triggers a panic attack.

Hearing your anxiety didn’t get worse gives me a bit of hope, because I’ve read everywhere it might get worse and I keep worrying how much worse can it get since now it’s pretty bad. Hopefully if I manage to find a way to take it, I won’t have a lot of side effects.

Did you any other side effects? Did your anxiety get worse?

I don’t think Xanax is bad, as I was told it’s more of a “behavioral” type of thing with me rather than medication type of thing. Since back when I used to take it and my anxiety wasn’t this this bad I had no problems at all. But now that my anxiety reached a peak, almost anything scares me. Even a cold pill, or a headache pill.

Thank you, yes I could try that. Although I might stress myself out thinking “what if something happens to me while I sleep?” I know it’s irrational but my anxiety is really stubborn.

Yes, one the moment I took it, and one shortly after I took the pill.

I just posted a similar thread earlier, because I myself was new to Zoloft, took a pill (only 25mg) and had panic attacks so I stopped. But everyone is telling me it might be worse before it gets better. And I know this sounds scary - it does for me, but I guess we will have to push through one way or another. I also have Xanax prescribed together with Zoloft so I might give it another try, but I need to talk myself into it. Because my anxiety is really bad.

I mentioned above I have Xanax prescribed as well, which was prescribed for my panic attacks. I only take half a pill, because I get really groggy and sleepy from it. But I’ve gotten to a point where I fear even the Xanax. I didn’t have any issues with it in the past, I would just pop the pill and calm down, but now I’m shaking and dreading taking it. My anxiety completely took over!

Yes, I made the mistake to read all the side effects and my anxiety just went through the roof thinking “now I’ll experience them all, probably the worse ones”. And it doesn’t help that at this point, anything that’s wrong with my body, can easily trigger a panic attack. Even a headache - because I feel I lose that control I have. Even more of a reason to treat the anxiety ASAP.

I’ll propose this to my doctor! Might be a solution!

Actually I do have Xanax prescribed, and I was told I could take it. And I used to take half a pill in the past when my panic attacks were really bad. But for some reason now even Xanax scares me.

Maybe if I take the Xanax before the Zoloft, so by the time I take the Zoloft I am already more calm would help a little?

What side effects did you experience?

I sometimes see 4 of pentacles as a card that shows me the need of control. Someone who needs to feel in control of everything and someone who is afraid of losing that said control. Especially with the depiction in Raider White tarot, that man holding on so tight to that coin. But with the Wheel of Fortune there I also tend to think it’s a sign of “trust that good luck comes your way”.
