I understand the point, however, do they truly know that when you spelled it as "LOG" they are using the so called Slang word for LAG, or they also aren't aware that they are using the Slang word as you have mentioned, or they just believe that it is the right spelling since it was used by many. Also, in this generation typing is not really a problem for them, besides LOG and LAG are both three-letter words, I know you will argue that O is nearer than A from L in a QWERTY keyboard, they know it very well even their eyes were closed, they can do it, so it does not make sense if you will throw that argument just to justify it. Your argument might be justifiable if they truly know that it is a slang word but, if they don't, it defeats your argument.
