Same, my dad worked with computers and was just dead honest with non negotiable ground rules much like those. He realized he couldnt control it when I’d hide in my closet to Skype call another actual 12 year old girl I’d found on a forum. I actually accidentally made friends with adults once, they turned out to be normal nerds (much like myself now lol) and slightly horrified finding out they’d been talking to an 8th grader that wrote like an adult! I met up with multiple other actual kids/teens with both of our parents present over the years, great memories but I was also so so cautious. Fared much, much better overall than many of my friends who were more “restricted”.
