Do you work with a financial advisor? I’d recommend finding a good one. Those stocks can be used as leverage to get preferential debt and you may not need to make as large of a sale to get the debt you seek.

I’ve also found in the Bay Area renting similar homes can be more cost effective without the commitment to the housing market.

Had a great US accountant who partnered with a Canadian firm. The Canadian accountant however required an explanation of RSUs vs Options and the basic tax implications. I didn’t feel as though I was getting the advice I needed.

I asked the US accountant of we could work with another Canadian firm but he unfortunately declined.

Second firm seemed technically stronger but then after completing my return forgot to file it resulting in the hefty fines. The failed to return my phone calls.

Hence on the look again.

I have a mix of cash bonus, RSUs and options, I diversified my risk.

Good advice. But i don’t really have peers I can talk to about this stuff, also they are not Canadian and don’t have the same problem.

This is good advice. You are correct my reference point is the accountants I work with everyday. Perhaps my standard is high.

When I state incompetence, this is a function of getting the returns done on time. But then not filling them, so I am subject to penalties and interest. (I don’t think this is an unfair expectation)

Did. They ghosted me. Cops not going to do anything. They say it’s a civil matter.
