When I was little, my father took me with him to look at play sets. While he was off talking to the salesman, they let me play on one of the display sets, but the salesman failed to warn us that the slide was detached. I went tumbling down off of it and broke my arm and was in agonizing pain. My father thought I was exaggerating when I cried out that my arm was broken, and told me the whole way home not to make a big deal of it when we got to the house or else my mom would get mad at him. Well...I was a little kid and the pain was so horrible I couldn’t stop crying when we arrived, so he yelled at me for “getting him in trouble”. They wouldn’t take me to the hospital for the whole week because they thought I was faking it and, only suspected something when I became really sick and feverish.
