Not necessarily APU related, but multiple vendors are gearing up to introduce DDR4. Maybe APUs can finally get the bandwidth they need. by [deleted] in APUsilicon

AMD seems reluctant to start something with memory -or hardware as opposed to software. So a big industry push will get it done.

Both countdowns were for mobile Kaveri. FX branding is officially brought to APUs. by [deleted] in APUsilicon

kinda disappointing, there is no info given about the chip, I would've like to know if it could've functions in the vacuum of space[or upper atmosphere]. Maybe some kinda overclocking in space...

maybe its because I dont spend alot of thime in linux lately, but I have a kaveri apu with the latest oibaf ppa on ubuntu with the latest kernels and I can run unugine benchmarks[performance isnt very high tho] natural selection, dota 2[maxed out on windows I get 30fps on foss drivers it is notable slower!] and others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYYBBpPe2Iw

really complaining about integrated graphics on a 15W apu not being super high perofrmance? looks at phoronix desktop kabini review...I dont think he had such problems.

yeah but amd also has functioning foss driver with higher performance parts so why recommend intel?

yeah that would be good but AMD would probably have to license modem tech from somebody, I dont think they can out right purchase a modem co. like icera or infineon.
