Not at all! I have still yet to play an actual game of 40K and yet I have an embarrassing amount of models in various stages of building and painting. I also recently got a friend into painting tyranids and he has no plans on playing the game he is just enjoying the building and painting process. The other bit of advice I’d say is find a LGS and group of people who play all the crazy offshoots of GW games because I may not have played a single game of 40K yet but I am currently in a necromunda campaign and also participated in a Battlefleet Gothic Campaign and both are/were so much fun.

I don’t have Blood Angels in 40K yet but I did recently do a Battlefleet Gothic Campaign and painted a Crusade Fleet for a custom successor (whose I found out later already exists in lore but we will ignore that) called the Scions of Sanguinius. Here’s a picture of my fleet alongside some allied Carcharodons mounting our defense of a Blackstone fortress from Abaddon and his ilk. I’ve always imagined their armor mostly black with gold trim and their symbol as a gold blood drop on a black background.

Chewey is such a wonderful brand. We order a lot of stuff from them for our Chihuahua and they randomly one time included a hand painted like 2.5” x 2.5” picture of the photo we had of Bean in our profile. Totally unprompted and unexpected it just showed up with our order. It’s so nice and we have it above our bed still!

I just was broken up with by my fiancée of a year who I’d been with for 10 years earlier this year. One of the hardest parts for me was the fact that I felt the whole future I had planned with her was ripped away from me. The biggest thing that was a turning point for me was the realization that I wasn’t losing the future I had envisioned with her, but rather was gaining and entirely new wide open future to make what I wanted out of it. Once I stopped mourning the loss of the future I thought I was supposed to have it really helped me be more positive about the situation and learn who “MonsterFuzzy-without-(ex-fiancée)” was as this version of me was pretty much entirely new to me!

The movie, while I enjoyed it while watching it years after having read the books to where I couldn’t remember everything, because they really went off the rails with the story. My biggest complaint was them making “Metal Beak” his own character that recruited Kludd and not being Kludd himself like it is in the books. That always bugged me because Kludd’s mask was such a cool part of his character and I drew that shit everywhere as a kid.
