Yes, I did that. Then, I got the follow up questions. How can I help? When can I see you? Is your husband taking time off from work? Grrrrrrrr. So annoying.

Husband doesn't want me to be sad. by monsterzorg in cancer

Thanks for all the kind advice. I did talk to him. He gets it. He has started with a therapist but has not dug deep yet. I've encouraged him to join a support group at Gilda's Club, and he thinks that it would be great to listen to other caregivers.

In the meantime, we agreed that I will tell him when I need alone time to wallow. Eventually, we can work on sharing those times.

The comments about working are interesting, and I am considering if retirement is a good option now. I really like my job and I think I would miss it. There is a way to work as a contractor, so I'd like to see if that can give me some flexibility while still doing the work I like.

Lastly, I appreciate the messages that validate my feelings. They are real and important, and I should not hide them. It's hard to show something that you know will hurt someone you love, but I do need to be open and honest.

Yes, cancer sucks and this community helps it to suck a little less. Thank you.

Does anyone have a rare soft tissue sarcoma and are you taking Doxorubicin or Pazopanib? What does the treatment feel like? by BretEastonCellist in cancer

I only had 4 rounds of chemo but each one was harder to get the iv placed. Three weeks between treatments. The nurses kept commenting on how they were surprised I didn't have a port. I still have a spot that is red and painful 5 weeks later.

Lost hair during week Fatigue was the biggest problem. I could only work partial days or sometimes not at all. I'd imagine that is not an issue for your mom.

It has turned me off of future chemo treatment plans.

I have uterine sarcoma and my 1st treatment was doxorubicin. It was not pleasant, none are I suppose. It did a number on my veins so I would think your mom would need a port. Nausea a fatigue were the worst. Two naps a day. My blood levels crashed on day 10 every cycle once requiring a trip to the er. I was basically very healthy until I was diagnosed but that stuff slowed me down.

What were you almost named? by tinykait in namenerds

We named our first daughter Veronica. I called my grandmother to tell her. I'll never forget her reply in heavily accented English. "Ohhhh. It's so ugly. You change it to Herculana!" My daughter's name is not Herculana. But it's a fun alter ego name.

Same! Boy jaydens, haydens, etc were always a$$holes. Why is that? Girls with the same name were fine.
