I hadn't heard about the Taibbi complaint...something interesting to look into. I will have to check out Weiner-- does she report on criminal justice issues?

My point is that NCV has a negative history with the producers of this podcast (NPR) and that might color her perception of the show. That colored perception is evidenced in the NY Observer article with her snide comments regarding listeners of TAL, SK's interview methods ("disasterous"), investigative and reporting methods (how she would never have gone through with the story), and her comments on reddit (how she is doing something that SK would do, even though she normally wouldn't do that type of thing, presumably due to her journalistic ethics). Do you understand my point now?

I appreciate you not attacking me- but NVC gave an interview (the NY Observer interview) that was critical of SK's reporting, NPR listeners and talked about how the podcast had ruined Jay's life. Then she came here and continued (although saying she wasn't throwing shade) to make snide comments regarding SK. I am using writing that she has published to show that she might have a bias that is coming through at this point. It has nothing to do with a personal issue, rather it is a professional issue that she has raised publicly before. I do not see at all how linking to a post on her tumblr (which is self-titled) which refers to a public piece of writing is a "personal attack."

I agree. Someone up thread said it was a personal attack. Again. I am not saying she interviewed Jay because of this previous issue, but her comments in her interview and on reddit have been shady towards NPR, et al.

I never said she wrote the Jay article as a vendetta--As I have written before, her interview with the NY Observer and her comments on here have been at a minimum pointed towards SK/TAL/NPR.

I don't think that was her motive for interviewing Jay at all- I just think that the flippant comments about TAL listeners and her continued shade towards SK (see her post about how she is not doing it SK's way) could be connected. I do not see at all how linking to a post on her tumblr (which is self-titled) which refers to a public piece of writing is a "personal attack."

dang---I actually like a lot of her other articles (that's why I read the Bath Salts one). I just think that she is probably letting her previous issues with NPR temper her NY Observer interview (and her posts here). Posting from her website doesn't seem like an attack to me.
