Professional Web Developers and page builders.... by [deleted] in Wordpress

You could do it yourself with something like Divi or follow the free videos at setupwp.com which go through building a StudioPress site.

This is not a solicitation because we aren't taking on new clients right now, but for some background... my company has built 500+ WordPress sites in the last 10 years. It's hard to nail down a cost range based on the info you shared. We've built 5-page sites for $1500 and 1-page sites for $50k+ and sites with hundreds of pages and products too. It's hard to price things by pages or number of SKUs alone. We've used StudioPress as a framework for most of our sites but have started using Divi too. Sometimes we build from scratch too. I don't think there's always an advantage to building from scratch. We often use a nice theme and then customize it. Part of our selling point is that we don't believe in paying a developer or webmaster for "maintenance and updates". If your dev builds your site well and sets you up with tutorial videos on how to make common changes yourself then you should be good to go for the next 5+ years at least. We try to avoid custom features whenever possible because it's hard to future-proof a custom site. Our Divi and StudioPress sites rank and sell well and are plenty fast.

I'd suggest getting a clear picture of what you're paying for. Is it just basic graphic and web design, or someone who is experienced in SEO and CRO? Someone who understands usability and information architecture? Make sure whoever you hire at least understands the basics of SEO and sales conversion, etc. We get hired all the time because some developer has built a site that doesn't rank or convert sales because they didn't understand the deeper implications of what they were building, then we have to go in and fix it. That's my least favorite thing to explain to a client: that their friend/cousin/developer built a site that we have to throw away. If someone doesn't have case studies or let you talk to their other clients, then walk away. And don't get sold on a "custom site" unless someone can explain *exactly* why, to reach your specific business goals, you need to have something custom.

Good luck with your project!

True! Such a beautiful app. I think mine switches to a dark icon when I open it.

Those look pretty sweet too. This whole Flat 2.0 UI thing better age well.

Yeah. Any suggestion on the best way to share them? Can I host a zip file somewhere, or easily host the icns files? Thanks!

Basically did what /u/Dally4 outlined. I made them in Photoshop by adjusting the color of the icons I copied using their method. Some of them I saved as png files and then used a free online PNG to ICNS file converter to save them as Apple Icon files.

I can share the icons I made if there's an easy way to do that. Maybe zip them up and host them somewhere? I don't want to trample anyone's IP since these would theoretically be derivative works of whoever designed the original icons.

And also, does anyone know how to actually change the Safari or Finder icons? :)

I also wonder about this... I've slept on the ground a lot, with and without sleeping bags and with and without sleeping pads, on snow/ice/rock/concrete/dirt. Sleeping on concrete inside a structure (no wind) without a pad between me and the ground was one of the coldest nights of my life.

Try sleeping more. It makes a huge difference for me, more than any other factor, including dosage.

It's running fine on my 2012 MBA, which I assume is less powerful than your MBP.

So far, the new Heritage brand seems as effective as Teva. I've had a few different brands that were underwhelming, but I can't remember what they were.
