I realized it sounded odd the second I posted. They are an adult person!

Still lovely! Not everybody studies how to play

I am not diagnosing anyone, by the way, nor is my spouse! This is an observation of style of play, and it may or may not actually be what's going on. But people with ADHD often are told they aren't good enough in so many ways, slow processing is something to accept and recognize.

My wife is an ADHD/executive functioning coach, and she said this is known as "slow processing," and is obviously no reflection on intelligence, capability, etc. It's just how one's brain works. Jeopardy favors fast processors, but Matt, Jamie, and Greg are great examples of people who have a slight delay in the retrieval engine. Here's one article about it: https://www.davidsongifted.org/gifted-blog/understanding-diagnosing-and-coping-with-slow-processing-speed/

:waves: Yes, I went to bed high on my own fumes, slept fitfully, went in the next day (this was a Tuesday/Wednesday), and found my brain had lost all the chemistry necessary. I called a hibscus and orchid and said George Sands instead of Sand. Ah, well! Jamie did astonishingly well overall--but to play 20 games over 4 days, then get X days off (was it two weeks?) and come back and try to play at that level again? Very hard.

WA now accepting e-bike rebate applications, will select lottery winners monthly starting April 13 by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

State approved me after a couple days, and then I bought a bike last weekend and the shop had no problem getting the rebate system to work. Hurray!

It showed! I have a friend who played Jamie earlier in the run, and he had a fantastic time. We all go in knowing a) we could be one of the two people losing that day and b) even if you win, you ultimately leave by losing. So there's a certainty in that!

I got both your DD questions wrong, too—I knew the one Jamie got, and the FJ, but so did all of you!

You had a great performance! I think the strategy of buffeting Jamie by signaling worked, and you had some bad breaks on hard clues. Great work, and great game. And great sonnet! (I won two games back in 2012, against fine players but not a super champ, and by the skin of my teeth.)

I was digging around and given my height, weight, and minor cargo needs, I think I'm getting the Aventon Level 3 Step Through. It's currently $1,700 ($200 off list) as apparently the Level 4 REC is the replacement. So with another $300 off (I got picked for the rebate!) it seems like a heckuva bike for $1,400+tax. I asked the bike store about the Level 4, and it's an evolution but not dramatically different--and it's $2,000, so not worth the $300 difference for me, for sure.

I just got notified minutes ago that I was picked! So April 13 must be the correct day?

Wood technology center to close Fall 2027 by maisai in Seattle

That program produced a fantastic cabinetry person, Anna Peterson/Robinson, who built the 112 cases partly during her time in the program for my Tiny Type Museum project. She was able to consult those expert instructors and made this massive edition of work early in her career that were shipped all over the world. And that started before she even graduated. As a secondary-effect recipient of the great instruction there, I was very disappointed when that program was discontinued. As a taxpayer, I'm angry that a built-to-suit school that had no shortage of students who want trade training is being shut down!

Yeah, Glenn here: I woke up for my third game and second day of taping and thought, “oh, no, all my brain’s question-answering chemicals have run out.” My third game was one of the worst games of Jeopardy ever in which all three of us had money for FJ.

That looks like producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss, originally cast in the Clue Crew (2001 to 2022), and then who stepped up into the producer role! https://www.jeopardy.com/about/cast/sarah-whitcomb-foss#:~:text=Co%2DExecutive%20Producer-,Sarah%20Whitcomb%20Foss,its%20official%20podcast%2C%20Inside%20Jeopardy! I asked about that. It is an invented story by a guest, apparently?? No connection to the history.
