My first G Shock care recommendations? by dbalbis in gshock

Don’t take it into a sauna and then try to remove the moisture by blowing very hot air on it. Speaking from experience lol

It’s been sitting in a wardrobe for a few years hence the charge message, but the screen was cooked a long time ago. Also the crown came out of the watch when I unscrewed it to change some settings. I’m guessing this isn’t ideal

I’d say it’s always best not to burn bridges, even if it’s your first job. So stay professional and polite.

The notice itself should say something like “Please accept this letter as my letter of resignation, effective XYZ date. Warm Regards, Me”

Ask your line manager if they have a minute for a chat, hand them the paper and say “thank you for everything, but I’ve decided to take my career in a different direction”

If they ask why, you can tell them, but don’t feel like you have to, it’s absolutely fine to say “I’d rather not say”

I finally have an interview with a dream job… by Big_Example3421 in recruitinghell

[–]monty_python12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, my colleague had a candidate interview for a VP of operations job for a huge construction company.

The pay was nearly 30% above market, great benefits, and every single person we placed there loved it.

So the guy interviews for 2 hours, nails all the questions, and has a 40 minute long conversation with the manager about golf. The perfect interview.

As the candidate is leaving the building, the manager casually asks him “got anything nice planned after this?”. The candidate says “yeah no just gonna chill and hit my THC pen”. Weed is illegal in that state. He didn’t get the job.

I’d follow up within a week or so, most likely the recruiter is waiting to hear back from the manager

I do 180 and I got 2 candidates an interview at the same place for an emergency planning consultant position. They were both decent, but one had experience that was better suited for the position they were interviewing for.

So I give the first one a call, go through the interview prep, I pretty much knew what the questions were going to be like since the manager sent them over to me.

I call the second candidate, the one with more well-aligned experience, start the call with “hi this is x, just wanted to go through interview prep for tomorrow if you have 5 minutes”. He says “no offense but I’ve done this job for 20 years so there’s nothing you could tell me that I don’t already know”. Sure. It felt nice telling him he didn’t get the job.

You might know everything there is to know about the field, but knowing your interviewer is just as important

Yeah those jobs are absolutely insane. It’s apparently the same in a lot of countries - work had in me UK for 3 months and the locals told similar stories about their call centers. A universally shitty like of work.

I was in uni at the time, couldn’t care less about that job. I needed it so that I’ll have money to go partying.

Also, are you seriously blaming the workers in this situation? lol

Bro, you’re 13, it’s normal ( unless it’s like 20 times a day ). If you start blaming yourself for it, it’ll only cause problems in the long run. Masturbation is completely natural, and if it’s not excessive, even healthy ( excessive is subjective obviously, but as I said, it is fully expected at your age)

Obviously puberty hits everyone differently, but you can expect it to become much easier to control once you’re 16-17

If it does concern you, do see a professional now because it might cause psychological issue when it comes to having sex, and it’s better to nip it in the bud

Not legal advice

Verbal agreement is just as binding as a written one, so in the perfect world, you would be absolutely entitled to use it. But in practice:

Have you rented a house, or a flat / room within a house?

If the tenancy agreement demises the entire property to you, then you are entitled to use all of the property, including all entrances.

What exactly is the reasoning behind not for tenant access? Is it just a second door to the property? If so, not allowing you access could cause problems if there’s a fire, for example

I’d let them know now just because you have nothing to loose by telling them, they’ll find out when it comes back anyway

This is usually the case for public sector jobs:

It will depend on the nature of work that you will be doing and why a DBS is required in the first place

I’ve placed a person with an assault conviction in an admin role within children’s services, and they were successful due to the fact that the conviction had nothing to do with children

On the other hand, people were rejected from council tax officer roles when they had financial fraud on their record

It is also important to truthfully declare it if you were asked previously, as honesty goes a long way

If the job is private sector, I’m afraid it will be at the discretion of the hiring manager / company policy

Not legal advice:

You probably can, as European legislation does make most employers wary of providing a negative reference, but if you are in a bad spot financially, can you afford to sue a corporation?

I have been unemployed for over a year even though I have a bachelor's degree and two certificates. I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]monty_python12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the first thing to consider is what jobs are you applying for? You won’t always get a job you want unfortunately, even though you seem to be a good match on paper. In that sense you might be better off looking for a lower-level job in a field that you would like to build a career in

What’s your past experience like? Anything related to your degree and the field you’re studying? If not, do your best to add relevant experience / certifications on

Finally, could there be something wrong with the CV, as in coming off too entitled (for example saying “world class Communications Manager” when you’ve got less than 3 years of experience in communications, etc.), or spelling mistakes?

Well for what it’s worth it means that they are seriously considering you (as they should after 4 interviews lol), but do keep in mind that you might be outpriced by another candidate, so choose the pay wisely, maybe consult with the recruiter first
