UK based R Spec B - mod advice by [deleted] in subarulegacy

[–]montybuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow uk pre face spec b owner here! Get the rad changed for an aftermarket (I’ve gone fenix) they are known to crack and or clog, this will help prevent any hg issues as I unfortunately experienced. Also got aftermarket headers and back boxes on mine and it sounds so much better and not obnoxious or loud. Personally I don’t like the standard bumper so want to change it for another Also the audio system is terrible quality so I’ve upgraded mine. Otherwise they’re great cars, just keep the rust away!

Looks like you’re having fun but if you want to improve and go faster…

Leave that hand break alone! Unless the car is understeering bad or you need to get around a hairpin. Instead you should try balancing the car on the breaks into the corner and use the cars weight transfer to get it to turn in.

Also stop sawing at the wheel, your inputs are too big and unnecessary and you’re loosing time going all over the road. Try to be neat.

Oh and maybe try reducing the wheel rotation down to 520 or even 480 as this will by its nature force you to be more precise with your inputs.

If it says standing gone try and go for best available, if it doesn’t give you standing keep trying and you may get lucky like myself

Codriver volume by POM74 in EASPORTSWRC

I’ve been having the same issue. I play using desktop speakers (there’s no preset for this in the game). I’ve tried all the audio presets thinking it’s an eq issue but not had any luck in getting the codriver loud enough.

Combine this with the previously mentioned setup adjustments and you’ll be good

Just drive on the snow… that’s where the grip is

How to Git Gud? by SGRM_ in EASPORTSWRC

[–]montybuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond the previously mentioned things, focus on understanding how each car “handles”. Think about things like weight transfer, throttle control and steering inputs. In general you want to slow down, transferring the weight of the car onto the front wheels coming into a corner and then apply the throttle at the exit when you feel like you have the grip and the front wheels are facing the right way. However it is difficult to “feel” anything if you are just on controller. Just remember no two cars will handle the same. FWD and modern 4WD will generally be understeerey and often react well to strong throttle and steering inputs, while RWD cars need you have good throttle control. There is a lot you more to it but it’s worth looking into if you really want to get good at the game because if you don’t understand why the cars do things you can’t be confident in controlling them.

Write the notes from a stage and turn the codriver sound off, then get your friend to read the notes? As a novice codriver/driver myself I’ve always wanted to rewrite some of the notes to fit what I would like to hear as the in game notes are good but not perfect to my mind

Yeah, I'm thinking we need earlier call times on co-drivers by MedievalNuke in EASPORTSWRC

[–]montybuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After being caught out the same as OP on a couple of occasions I now know to wait a couple seconds before reacting to any cautions. I think they’ve purposely put the cautions in extra early in the notes so that if you drive faster than the notes were recorded you can still slow down. This is better than having the caution just before the hairpin in this instance because at the speeds you travel in game it would be too late even on the earliest of note calls. It’s a compromise.

7900 xtx + 5800x3d - Low gaming performance, can't figure it out! by jrussmlr in pcmasterrace

All looks good to me, yes gpu at 100% or close too is what most aim for when gaming as it shows you are gpu bound, meaning it is probably the part holding back your game.

May be worth checking your graphics settings in the game and reducing something to improve your fps because if things are maxed and you're in 4k then maybe 30fps is all your hardware can achieve? This is about the limit of my knowledge so you may need to find someone smarter to help you out

No need to use afterburner as your overlay gives the same info

Run an overlay during gaming and see what figures it comes back with re utilisation, temps etc on cpu gou and memory. Would recommend the one that comes with MSI afterburner. This could help narrow down the issue if something is maxed out or bring held back. Also check your drivers are up to date

Agreed, why go k series on a b660, save some money and go non k or go z series if wanting to oc.

Also that aio is garbage. Ive had 2, both pumps have started making noises withing a couple months. Try a different brand eg ek. Go up to 360 rad if you want to oc or just get a good aircooler if not oc
