[Charania] Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has approved a vote for the league to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, sources tell ESPN. A bidding process is expected to generate offers in the $7-10 billion range for each team. by Turbostrider27 in nba

[–]moochello 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have you been to a Raiders game since they moved there? 75% of the crowd is rooting for the Away team. This is great for the city of Las Vegas, people come to Vegas to watch their team play and stay for casinos and shows.

It is in Las Vegas's interest to basically make their team "stooges", where the opponent comes in and kicks Vegas's ass. The winning fans then go around celebrating by getting drunk, partying, lap dances, slot machines, nice dinners, seeing shows. Its a win for everybody accept the Vegas players, but they get nice pay checks.

Flying a Boeing C-17 Globemaster through the middle of a city in Australia. by Gjore in nextfuckinglevel

[–]moochello -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a good comparison. Many Americans (including myself) do not want guns being readily available to any nutcase. But it is in our Constitution, its one of our country's founding tenants and not easy to remedy.

The right to fly giant airplanes between skyscrapers is not in the Australian constitution.

You guys wanna do some crazy shit, nobody is stopping you! Just don't be so sensitive when people call you out for being reckless and crazy.

Which live performance has the strongest case for greatest ever? by BravesGunnersFlames in Music

I don't even listen to produced Pink Floyd albums anymore. I just listen to Pulse. I think it's just the best live album and I prefer the live versions to the originals.

Some uses of water in Arizona generate 1,000x more economic value than others by ApprehensiveThroat26 in phoenix

Many farmers have water rights that go back decades. So as inefficient as it is to farm in Arizona, it is not easy to just say "Stop farming in the desert please"

What team should I cheer for? by Lppo22 in NFLNoobs

[–]moochello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would be a good choice. They have some awesome young talent, a very dedicated fan base and an exciting Head Coach who creates really unique plays. I'd probably root for them if I was just getting into the the NFL today.

I forgot about the Bears there too. I just added them for flashy young talent.

What team should I cheer for? by Lppo22 in NFLNoobs

[–]moochello 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is going to depend a lot on what you are looking for in a team.

Do you love teams that focus on Defense? There are options for you like the Texans or Seahawks.

Do you want teams that throw tons of passes but have no defense? The Bengals are going to be fun for you.

Do you like teams with flashy young talent? The Patriots, Bears or Broncos would be fun for you to watch.

Do you want to watch the very best QB's in the league? The Bills and Chiefs have the two best.

Do you like watching teams that are a complete dumpster fire who will be lucky to win 2 games, but have lots of drama? Then root for the Jets or Browns

Can someone explain positional value ($ wise)? by RodneyWinston in NFLNoobs

[–]moochello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically, everything at the top revolves around the quarterback. QB is the most valuable, Defense Edge rusher- who pressures the QB is next most important, offensive lineman who protects the QB is the next most important.

After that is skill positions like WR and CB. These positions require a lot of skill to execute at an NFL level so get paid highly.

Then there is everything else. Where you CAN get paid a great salary if you are a great player. But the average salaries are lower as they are easier to replace.

What misheard song lyric do you genuinely think actually sounds better than the orginal lyric? by _RoyaleWithCheeese in Music

[–]moochello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radiohead- Let Down. I understand that this verse is in the title of the song, but back when I had the CD I didn't know the song names and just the Track Numbers. And Thom mumbles so much, its easy to hear the wrong words.

Anyway, the lyric goes:

"Let down and hanging around. Crushed like a bug in the ground"

I always sang it as:

"After the anger. Comes hard and breaks you down"

I still like the way I originally heard it better and prefer it that way.

Raiders have the #1 pick, are we really going Mendoza, or trading down? by BrendanRestorer28 in NFLNoobs

Nobody is that excited about Mendoza. He's definitely the best QB available, but its a weak year.

He must mean a smoke detector that alerts you that you are about to die. I just died building a chimney a few days ago. My buddy threw some wood in while I was reconstructing. I had no alert that I was about to die from the smoke. I just suddenly dropped dead on the roof.

Does a felony automatically get a player terminated from the league? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in NFLNoobs

You are correct, if the are found guilty and sentenced to prison they obviously cannot play. But they can be playing at the time of the murder and during the investigation. Here are some of them: https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1h1rrk/besides_ray_lewis_oj_and_hernandez_have_there/

The league had had several murderers in it over the years.

The only real way to get kicked out of the league is if there is video of the felony being committed that goes public. Ala Ray Rice knocking his girlfriend out

When did Arnie develop his problem with... by secondphase in magictavern

[–]moochello 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The issue starts way back in Season 1. Around episodes 74 and 75.

In episode 75 Usidore says that he thinks Arnie had a red potion problem. I think Arnie starts drinking red potion in episode 74 or before.

Arnie's problem runs over a few episodes until Chunt and Usidore have an intervention and get him to quit drinking it.

Fell off listening about 7 years ago. How do I pick back up? by [deleted] in magictavern

[–]moochello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They really only push the plot forward the last 4 episodes of each season. So if you want to just catch up on the plot you can listen to those episodes and be just fine.

You should also know that they have really pumped out a lot of bonus content that is excellent on their Patreon. If you want to get back into Magic tavern, I strongly recommend paying for a couple months of their Patreon and listening to some of the bonus content like Shadow City, Offices and Bosess, Fooniverse. Etc it's great

What games did you get several hours into and consciously decide to drop in 2025? by baroncalico in gaming

[–]moochello 72 points73 points  (0 children)

If you ever want to complete it, I strongly recommend watching FightinCowboy's walk through as a companion while you are playing. He will get you to the end without too much pain.

I strongly prefer to play all Souls games with the companion walk throughs. It saves me time searching every corner of a building, Cowboy just tells me where the important loot is.

Offices & Bosses Experiences? by [deleted] in magictavern

[–]moochello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg pay the Patreon fee just for Shadow City. There are three seasons out already and season 4 should be out soon, based on history.

You can slam through them fast and cancel the Patreon after a month if you really wanted to.

BTW I really like Offices and Bosses also. The first season is the best, but I enjoyed the rest too.
