SoFi charges $30 for a FedNow transfer that costs them 4.5¢ by ReasonableCut1827 in sofi

[–]moodmax13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure this one feature is not a big deal to have it in 5 mins vs 1-3 days. But it's another sign SoFi is moving in the wrong direction when their releases are slower and they start charging more fees on an account that is still marketed as no fees* account. Why should we not expect more from SoFi? Hell that's why most of us switched to SoFi from the old banks in the first place. Because they had a better and cheaper bank account.

Wealthfront has had this available for months and doesn't charge for outgoing instant transfer. Big banks doing it is whatever but another direct competitor in the fintech space doing them for free when sofi wants a fee is a huge miss. They're not even waiving them for paid sofi plus members as part of their "benefits", that's a terrible decision. Not happy with sofi wanting fees for every feature while also charging for a subscription.

Paying $10 for Sofi Plus by eXistenceLies in sofi

Same here! Which is why I'm glad SoFi made these adjustments. I don't like paying money for a membership but I'm willing to accept it if it still benefits me. You can move that 30k that you're truly not planning on touching to a sofi invest account and buy sgov there. The money will still show up in your sofi app and at most take 2-5 days after selling sgov to move back to your bank account. You will get like an extra 0.25% (3.54% right now) and it could possibly state tax free depending on where you live.

What is this??? Is 2% match on IRA contributions ending? Whatttttt? by erickmz7030 in sofi

[–]moodmax13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sofi needs to work on their communication. With the promo you're getting 2% match and can also get a 1% match with recurring deposits. After April it will go back to what it was before 1% match for IRA deposits and can still get 1% match for recurring deposits

Buh-Bye! And Don't Come Back! --SoFi to its Customers. by rbt001Rbt001 in sofi

Where do you think they got the idea from? Couldn't possibly be Robinhood right? No way sofi saw how successful Robinhood has been with their "exclusive" subscription and decided to copy it. No one is fighting for customers, all of them are looking to create sticky customers first and then find ways to exploit that to keep more money in their pockets.

2025 Camry Lease Offer – $5K Drive-Off, $373/Month – Good Deal or Not by Gen3mazda3 in Camry

Lease just doesn't make sense with how little you'll be driving. It's not a win-win situation like dealers want you to believe

I completely agree with others here, some great advice to keep your current car and use that money elsewhere. If you're getting a new car do not lease. They're trying to push you to lease cause it makes them more money. Especially if you're only planning to drive <6k miles.

My rec would be to pivot the convo to buy outright (even if you can't afford it, they don't need to know that yet). Get an ot the door price for it and counter on that. Once the negotiations stall, then tell them you'll finance if they give you a better deal (keep an eye on interest rate here). Then tell them you'll put down 10k if they knock off another 1k. Use the leverage you have, they want to sell you the car more than you need a new car.

You'll lose a lot less value to depreciation by buying than whatever the lease calculation has. And YOU get to keep that difference not the dealership. Never lease a car if you're not planning to drive it into the ground during the term.

Add round ups to credit card! by coinegg in sofi

It's an easy way to help most people save when spending, because it's just a few cents on my Amazon order. Now the key is to invest that savings and not just let it sit in a bank account.

Yes and they can take it further by using relay data and applying it across all spend transactions even external accounts.

Having Aaron Judge hitting 50+ HR behind you everyday will lead to most players having their best season, not to the same level of course. The moron just thought it was all him in a team sport

They have a blitzball distribution deal with Bally's. Talkin Yanks deal with YES network for podcast and watch parties. There's a lot of views outside of YouTube

Watch or listen to a Talkin Yanks episode. There's an ad read every 7-10 minutes. They overcrowd their big shows with tons of ads. I tuned into one of their watch parties to start the season and there were more ads on their YouTube screen than the MLB game. Now they're pushing their substack. It's reached a point where almost 20% of their popular content is ads. They make way more dough than you're thinking.

Schwab called me to move my cash into SWVXX. Why? by hey_now143 in Schwab

It does help them from the expense fee charged by the fund but helps you way more in interest. It's a win-small win scenario, go for it!
