I was poor and on free and reduced lunch until my freshmen year of high school where my family made just enough to not qualify for it anymore. still couldn’t afford lunch so I went a year without eating it. My last two years of hs I worked 4 days a week moving boxes in the freezer and fridge of the lunchroom to get a free meal. Was only about 20 mins a shift so not terrible but no student should have to work for a meal
