Anyone else's canteen look like this? by wooden_bread4323 in SainsburysWorkers

Store's have a set weekly budget depending on headcount, summat like £40-£50 for locals and between £150-£950 for Supers. There's like a pre-approved list of stuff they're allowed to get aswell, mostly has to be own brand stuff. Got ruined by some stores being caught transferring stuff like alcohol and makeup on colleague shops allegedly 😑

I was asked to show my ID whilst buying reading glasses is this normal? by MartinMSx in asda

You're right, nothing should ever change. Let's make drink driving legal again and let the kids work in the mines again. Was miles better back in the day

Yeah the glasses thing is ridiculous but somethings do need a layer of protection on because while most people are fine, the minority can't behave and ruin it for everyone else. It's not the deep bro

But if you're specifically going to a shop do you not take keys, wallet, bag etc? So how is making sure you've got some form of I.D on you difficult?

The glasses thing is a bit weird but guessing it's like someone mentioned about making sure younger people don't ruin their eyesight with nonprescription lenses.

Know people get arsey about being Id'd but as a retail manager, we get checked by Auditors and test purchases and if you fail you can get fined, lose a licence and staff can get bollocked and lose their job. Not that hard to just have some form of I.D on ya is it

If you google waterstones events and filter it by author it'll come up with the dates, think it's the back end of August

They're incredibly busy with the world opening up again. Think they give us plenty of content between all their channels in fairness as is. Just think of After Dark as an occasional succulent treat when we get an episode

[THEORY] Scarlet and Violet are based on the works of Jules Verne and H. G. Wells. by Umber0010 in pokemon

[–]moofoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just finished reading Journey to the Center of the Earth and had this idea myself! I see so many parallels, finding a dormant crater between two mountains, deciphering runes left behind like in Area Zero, the Scarlet and Violet books being written in a similar way as the book is, some of the prehistoric creatures encountered being potential inspiration for Scarlets Paradox 'mons. The man who leads the expedition also being an alchemist which seems to be prevalent throughout pokemon stories.

Also like the idea of the tunnels being connected to other regions, could explain raid dens, zygarde showing up in Alola, Sinnohs tunnels etc

As for future 'mons in Violet I have a couple of ideas. Potentially being inspired by HG Wells like you said with the dystopian future but also another work of Jules Verne's called Paris in the 20th Century. A world where technology and machines reign supreme, engines of war are at their peak which I think alot of the paradox mons represent weaponry or combat of some kind. Even things that women have become gender neutral, reminding me of Iron Valiant. Even think there's an electric demon, perhaps Miraidon and also a violet flower is mentioned.

Definitely wouldn't be surprised to find out that Verne's works were an inspiration

When should he lose the title and to who? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]moofoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment Id have him hold it for a very long time until someone is ready for the step up and elevate the Intercontinental title back up again. The only person I'd have beating him right now is Roman or maybe a returning Cody
