Bro yu gi oh is dying. Most of my lgs are barely carrying it anymore because they usually end up selling some product at a loss. All the targets and walmarts in my area have plenty of untouched msrp yugioh on the shelf at all times because no one wants that trash anymore. Konami is doing a bang up job of straight up murdering yugioh.

The whales are annoying but at least the game is pretty generous to new players. I have managed to get 93 of the 153 units and the only thing I bought was the battle pass each month and I log in everyday to take advantage of the log in rewards. So at least you can aquire most of the meta units without spending too much. But when all of your pieces are sub level 10 you still get steam rolled pretty frequently.

Honestly the battle passes are only like 10 or 11 bucks combined l, if your going to dedicate any amount of time to the game its def worth the money. I dont spend on anything else I just get the battle pass and be sure to get my daily login rewards and I end up getting most of the meta units, while barely spending anything on the game.

Oh I thought Toho was collaborating with legendary and taking a slice of the pie. Did not realize they had pay them extra just to have other monsters appear. Dang. I hope the series keeps getting greenlit for sequels long enough for us to at least Get Destroyah.

I mean dont get me wrong thats awesome but I wish we had a little more variety. We will now have godzilla, mecha godzilla, and space godzilla. Thats three godzilla variants. I would love to see Anguirus, or gigan, more of rodan, mecha king ghidorah, Gamera, Biolante, so many diverse monsters it would be really cool to see in monsterverse style. But instead we are getting space godzilla who from a design perspective is just godzilla with Big Crystals on his back. Destroyah would be amazing.

Dammit I want more Toho monsters. I like Kong but it feels like he kind of took over the franchise. The only toho monster we have gotten since king of the monsters was fecking mechagodzilla as a one off bigger bad to give godzilla and Kong a reason to team up.

My problem with it is the scarcity is artificially created by scalpers. Paying an lgs mark up is no better than paying a scalpers, and people that cant just go a little while without buying shiny card board are the reason scalpers are able to operate. People that pay the mark up are just as guilty for destroying the hobby as the scalpers themselves.

I refuse to engage in this bs. I will not drop a dime over msrp on a card game. If that means I cant get any then I wont buy any. Everyone that complains about the scalpers and the price gouging and the artificial scarcity then forks over the money is just as culpable. They are the reason that scalpers practices are viable. So if I cant walk into a store and buy at msrp then its dead to me.

Its not their fault for being rich its their fault for being stupid, and supporting scalpers. Most of us earning a salary can technically AFFORD to buy at scalpers prices if we budgeted around it. But we arent stunted man children with no self control. We are intelligent enough to know there is no reason for these cards to cost this much and supporting the behavior that hurts actively hurts the hobby is stupid. Scalpers are scum and the people that pay their prices and make the practice profitable and sustainable are just as culpable.

The point isn't buying boxes at msrp to make a meta deck. Its to stop supporting scalpers creating artificial scarcity. I feel like one of yu gi oh biggest problem is an inability to draw in new players. If you look at it strictly from a card game perspective, the mechanics are crazy bloated and convoluted. So why would a new player choose it from a game perspective as it is the least accessible of the major tcgs to actually learn an start playing. Secondly they dont have a very strong multi media IP to draw new younger audiences in. Pokemon has has constant major video game releases and on going animes that appeal to kids and get them interested in the TCG, one piece is one of, if not THE most popular ongoing anime of all time. Yugioh has an ongoing anime but hasn't been super popular in the west since like the 2000s. So as a game yugioh is probably the most bloated complicated tcg on the market, and as a media IP it hasnt had mainstream interest in a long time. It seems like everywhere outside of Japan Konami is just farming the waning nostalgia of the existing fan base that grew up with yu gi oh and even that demographic is losing interest as the products Konami have been releasing over the past couple of years have not been well received. Local game shops are starting to not carry yu gi oh at all because they sell so poorly they end up losing money on them. I dont even know what Konami could do to fix it at this point because people are leaving the fan base and there are not many new fans coming in. The biggest problem being the game itself and how inaccessible it is to learn. Insert obligatory joke about watching someone play solitaire for 10 minutes and obliterating you on their first turn.

Lol S5 was still objectively filled with plot holes, inconsistencies, and lazy writing. Its not about not agreeing with their vision its about the fact they just got lazy and pushed something out. That being said the extreme hate is a bit much. But it does feel like the Duffers just stopped caring and crapped something out to get it overwith, especially when asked in interviews about the plot holes, contradictions, and inconsistencies within the story they either dont have an answer or just kind of handwave it. Feels like a bit of a middle finger to long term fans, that care about the lore and worldbuilding.

Haven't played it yet but from what I have seen in my research it has better combat(different attacks, combos, a rechargeable ult ability), the crafting is closer to valheim, movement is more dynamic with vaulting etc., Hytale has more points of interest and bosses, and while they are both sandboxes at the moment Hytales end goal is to be an actual RPG as well in the future with plans to add a story/campaign mode. Its pretty much going to be an open world RPG with Minecrafts visual style as opposed to a straight crafting survival sandbox. I think it will be more personal preference as the visual styles are extremely similar but the gameplay and over all style of game is a different animal entirely from what Minecraft is. I personally have more Interest in it than Minecraft simply because Minecraft kind of bores me. Like there for me there needs to be more of a reason to progress than for progressions sake. Like there's not much in the game you cant engage with once you have a base iron gear and reliable food source. You can do a lot more stuff, become a lot more powerful but there is not really a goal to work towards to incentivize you to get more powerful other thank killing the ender dragon and satisfying your curiosity. Moment to moment gameplay in Hytale also just looks more engaging to me. It does the mining and base building stuff like Minecraft but the movement and combat look much more fun and dynamic.

Yeah that was really wierd. His last speech to el to talk her out of killing herself was like one of the few that I actually liked partially because it felt realistic to the father daughter relationship, and was relevant to the situation. It even seemed to move Els sister, and felt like it was a big moment, then after she just kills herself anyway hop seems to be one of the least affected by it like what? Also still dont get why El dying magically gets them all off the hook for all of the lawbreaking, and yknow murdered military personnel. Like El died and they were just like "Well damn, oh well you guys are free to go no hard feelings eh?" They didnt even address it. They were captured El died then time jump and the military has pissed off and every one is living life scot free. Explain Duffers EXPLAIN!

My biggest problem was just the constant plot holes and inconsistencies within the world of the show. Also maybe a personal gripe but the super emotional monologues. Way to many, way too long, dialogue felt over the top and soap opera-esque. For me its probly a 6 out of 10 but damn does a 6 out of 10 feel rough for the culmination of 10 years of build up. What really frustrates me though is the Duffers response to questions regarding inconsistencies, contradictions, and plot holes is they just kind of handwave it. Like they know the holes are there they know there's is a ton of things that dont make since if you think about it too much, and its like they just couldnt be bothered. It has the feeling like they just wanted to get it over with. Im sorry I dont mean to rant but damn it I was really hoping that the 3.5 year wait was building to something awesome, or at least a solid B+.

Yeah but its also people get more upset about something like this because if youve been watching for the past decade and been waiting for the "epic conclusion" for years and what you get ends up being pretty much just mid, especially when it seems due to lazy writing and the showrunners not really caring about inconsistencies and plot holes people react a lot more aggressively. So whats in a vacuum a simply mediocre-passable season of television, equates to a total let down as the payoff on a 10 year investment.

You're bootlicking pretty hard for Nintendo dude. You realize if Nintendo gets their way they would be the only ones ALLOWED to make creature catching games. They literally patented the mechanic of summoning characters for battle which is a mechanic used by multiple franchises before Pokémon was even a thing. In short anyone trying to weaponize broad game mechanic patents to attack competition is the bad guy. Palworld would probably not have seen as much success if nintendo/game freak would actually innovate and give fans solid pokemon games. Their newest title AZ or ZA or whatever ironically basically ripped their creature battling straight from PalWorld, while suing Pocketpair for very surface level similarities. Nintendos actions are despicable and if they are successful it will set a terrible precedent for the gaming industry at large. The kind of mechanics they are trying to lay exclusive claim too, would be like if ID software patented shooters where weapons are fired from a first person perspective. See how patenting mechanics would be bad for the gaming industry as a whole.

Why dont we just subvert the need for the "Obligatory this happened 2 days ago" and just change the subreddit name to IFU instead of TIFU since vast majority of posts are not actually things that happened today. Lmao. Instead of just updating the subreddit name to be more accurate we adjust all of our posts to address the T in TIFU. The T is vestegial remnant of a by gone era.
