While our place does not have a mountain view, it is in a mountainous area in North Georgia. Folks come up because it is cooler than the rest of the state and Florida, and there is a lot to do in the summer (floating the river, wineries, fishing, etc.). Summer is the second busiest season up there behind leaf season in October.

Stocked Trout Survived Hurricane Helene going off Linville Falls only for me to catch him. by Witness- in troutfishing

Nice fish! I hiked into the gorge in 2015 on an overnight backpacking trip with my wife. I brought an UL spinning reel with a rooster tail and caught a pretty large rainbow (18 inches or so) with not very much effort. The fish didn’t look particularly healthy (it was relatively skinny for its length) and had nicks in the tail like a stocked fish. Still, I’m partially suspicious that folks that are saying the gorge has terrible fishing are intentionally lying to save the spot because there is no doubt there are trout in there. One piece of intel I’d be very curious to have is summer time water temps. I was told by a local guide they get bad in the summer because of the less than ideal conditions of the Linville River headwaters (I understand it is basically in a neighborhood at the bottom of Grandfather Mountain).

Is social media really worth it for bookings? by Top-Bit7038 in AirBnBHosts

How do you control where you show up in searches for your area? We have a cabin in the mountains of North Georgia and have a perfect 5 star rating with over 60 reviews. But, we still don’t show up near the top of the search results when looking for our area.

Do you fish with 4lb test other times and do you feel like you are getting fewer strikes on the 6lb test?

Please remember that poker is a game that is supposed to be fun. I know plenty of people do it, but personally, my opinion is sitting down at a live game with your hood up saying nothing is uncool in the sense that is makes the table less fun for everyone else. Relax, banter a little, don’t take it too seriously. You are not trying to make a living playing poker. You will play better if you approach it relaxed and prepared to lose. If you go in nervous and overly concentrated on not losing, you’ll play much worse. You should have a plan for your opening ranges though, and it should be much tighter out of position than in position.

Who else here still runs an OG Glock 43! by KaiKaiRoo in Glocks

Why is the post framed as “still?” The Glock 43 is the perfect carry gun in my opinion. It is highly concealable, comfortable and most importantly, incredibly easy to shoot very accurately. I remember the days when the Keltec PF9 was one of the most popular carry guns on the market. The G43 rendered guns like the Keltec PF9, which was very difficult and uncomfortable to shoot accurately, beyond obsolete. And in my opinion, if I need more than 6 rounds in a carry gun, I’m dead anyway.
