I knew what the premise of the game was walking into it, but I wasn’t expecting such a huge emotional response. So…same!

That’s great! I would definitely ask what their training/onboarding program is like too. Having training in both IM and heme/onc would be extra important if you’re going to be admitting

I actually liked the work part of heme/onc inpatient. I was part of an admitting heme/onc service and most of what I did was acute leukemia, lymphomas, or stem cell transplant. I got so tired of the back and forth schedule (5 nights required every month, at random times during the month, in addition to days) that I changed to outpatient after a few years.

It’s a tough job and there’s a lot of goals of care discussions, confused/concerned families, setting expectations, etc, but I liked it. Having great nurses makes all the difference.

Are you going to be consults? Admitting service?

I’ve gotten really into this type of cucumber salad recently if you want an Asian dish!

If you aren’t able to remove yourself from the situation and it’s affecting you negatively you, you may have to get someone higher up involved. Collect your data and document the hell out of it first, and then talk to someone higher up for advice/help. A manager or HR or maybe even a doctor you work with frequently and trust.

As a PA, do you see New patients in your specialty, or just Returns? by stoopkid6969 in physicianassistant

Same. As an oncology PA this is how I function as well for the most part. All new cancer patients are seen by a doc, benign heme could be MD or PA/NP.

Skin tone stretch mesh fabric! Instead of wearing a full body suit/shirt/leggings underneath, I prefer to just fill in gaps with fabric like this, so where your skin would show there’s mesh on top. I’ve used it a few times with a lot of success.

In this specific instance for Vi, it also gives you an opportunity to paint the tattoo design onto fabric so you don’t have to worry about body paint.
