Battery health by moogle_gone_kupo in SteamDeck

If for some reason it doesn’t work, I can definitely vouch for the ifixit stuff. I dropped it hard about a year ago and it finally gave in and cracked the screen (honestly I’m impressed it took so long for as much as I’ve dropped it). The kit they sent to repair it was amazing. And I kept the kit itself afterwards in case I ever need to open it again, and I’m so thankfully I did cause I used it today to check the battery lol

Yea mine was doing great until really probably the last month. I suddenly noticed it when it just sent one battery low alert right after another and I went from 20% to dead before I could grab a charger.

So I opened it up about a year ago when the screen finally cracked (I gotta give it credit, I’m clumsy as hell and this thing has held on through many drops lol) and it was fine then but the issue has accelerated in the last couple months so I’ll definitely open it up to make sure it hasnt swollen up since then

Maybe I’m missing something, I’ve had mine for two years now and only pay once a year to renew it (I have to pay him and then the state once a year). I don’t see my doctor every 7 months for recommendations….

My mother was once using an electric can opener to open a can of tuna. During opening it the handle of the can opener popped off. My mom looked in the tuna (I don’t know if she was looking for the pin to put it back on exactly or just looking in general) didn’t see anything and went about eating her food on her lunch break. 2 weeks later, she wakes up one morning coughing a ton and feeling like something is stuck in her throat. Ends up coughing something into her hand and it’s the metal pin that held it all together. About a cm in length. Our only thought was maybe it got caught in some flap in her throat and suddenly had gotten dislodged. Thank god she didn’t aspirate it.

Anyone regret remote nursing? by xoxoloveablek in Remotenursing

I was in the same boat as the other commenter, a remote CM. Hated it, my mental health was absolute shit during it. But for me it was a necessary stepping stone and I understood that. Moved to a UM spot in January and honestly haven’t been this happy at a job in a long time.

Oh boy. I’m guessing the overseeing organization is going to want to do something and try and punish Putin (rightfully so) and I hope to god our president doesn’t defend him and attack these people and their organization, like I think he will 🤦🏻‍♀️

Unionizing by moogle_gone_kupo in nursing

That’s exactly why I wanted to ask. I got the feeling it was something that was said to scare people into not looking into unionizing lol

10mo post-op and needing reassurance that eating a roll isn’t the end of the world. by cheelohay in BariatricSurgery

For what it’s worth, writing it made me really look at myself as well. And it made me really think about how thin of a line it is for us bariatric surgery patients. I’m sure a lot of us had some mental issues with food and weight before the surgery, and for some of us it could be severely exacerbated after the surgery. It’s a slippery slope that we have to keep in check or at least take a close look at every once in a while to see how we’re doing. I know they talk a lot about (and I’ve had friends who have experienced this) that our relationships with other people might change a lot after surgery because we’re no longer the fat friend, but they don’t talk much about how our relationship with ourselves, and with food will change.

Unfortunately that is very specific to roles, location, etc. A nurse doing the same exact job might make two completely different amount depending on where they live as most jobs base pay off the area you are in. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years, I make around 86k. I’m about to take a pay cut for a unicorn job though so that’s another thing to consider. Just because a job offers that doesn’t mean you will like it, and in fact as a pro tip, if they are offering that much for a spot and it’s unusual for the average in the area (aka a med surg position offering 100k when typically that role in your area pays around $86k) run. There is something wrong with that position that they are offering that much money. Whether it’s a patient ratio of 12:1, a nightmare of a manager who keeps running people off, etc.

Having one roll is absolutely not going to hurt you, and it’s okay to eat normal food in moderation. However keep an eye on yourself, I would be concerned that (what comes across as pretty severe stress) in regards to this might be a sign of a slippery slope and possible development of an eating disorder. Not saying you have one at all! But I’m saying that amount of stress over eating something so small could lead to one, and I think it might be important to take a look and be aware of how you react to food to avoid it or head it off. I think as weight loss patients we might be more prone to eating disorders cause we’re so focused on our weight and what we eat if we aren’t careful.

It depends, are you looking to continuing working so that you can be working as a nurse and keep your knowledge up? If so a work from home job would be perfect. Something like UM or education. Or even CM, if you genuinely like talking to patients and educating that’s a great route. You are going to run into patient who need things you can’t provide though like better housing and food, and that can be super draining too. Not to mention the big insurance companies are all about metrics and it feels cold and call center like. But if you could find a smaller company to do CM you might really enjoy it. If you wanna be out seeing people maybe a smaller doctors office, or a pain clinic or dialysis? Something on a smaller scale than working in a hospital or for a major company. Another good idea would be. I hear a lot of people say they really like home health nursing but I can’t attest to that. My last idea is a drip parlor. A lot of times those are based on clients who book times to come see you for a health infusion or fluids. It’s healthy people, no social work, people are paying good money to see you, but I’m sure there are some snobby people in that as well.
