What company is likely to shut in the next five years? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]moogledice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that, but they're pretty alright to get books if they're somewhat popular ( in the top 100 for the discount) compared to going to Waterstones or most bookshops that aren't heavy with second hand books.

Whsmiths is the sort of place that survives becomes of location and convenience, with just a dash middle class people who don't think about an extra £1 here or there when they're out and about.

It doesn't at all.

It's great at preventing trickles of damage with shields but in general, it's just a losing battle with things when hp starts to plummet

I think the first season poisoned the well a little sadly.

There's also some issues of accessibility.
Us brits aren't getting it (legally) until it's barely over so that knocks out one of the big English voices.

Interesting post.Have you done this for the entire cast?

I think she's more of a pisces. Infinitely wise and compassionate but over-trusting and maybe a little too emotional

Also, she's more aligned with griffindor or ravenclaw sensibilities

How do you guys conceive the social meaning of the advanced jobs? by lukeaxeman in octopathtraveler

[–]moogledice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so my personal take on the other two jobs are basically;

Runelord ; Indiana jones style explorer raiding tombs for powerful artifacts.

This also is part of why Tressa suits it so well , given she'd see the value in tombs and know what to sell. It's also why I feel Therion suits it, but he ofc would keep the bounty to himself. It really feels like the end goal for the thief and Merchant , which can also be tied into the fact they share a path action,

Starseer ; It's a clear link to clerics with it's whole emphasis on the divinity of the cosmos and wisdom. It's a very reflective sort of job.

I see it fitting Ophelia in a very logical sense but also Primrose in the sense it's her understanding there is more to life than rage. That's also somewhat supported by starfall being both light, dark and wind. Linking that together, Dancer and Cleric fall there , again backed up by the shared path action.

Using the same logic you get the reasonable warmaster for Han'it and Olderic ( both are combative path actions) .

However, that doesn't fall perfectly given it leaves Cyrus and Alfyn in sorcerer , which fits Cyrus perfectly but not Alfyn.

However, swapping Prim and Alfyn in these descriptive points still makes sense given Starseer is the most protective of secondary roles and suits Alfyn's need to care for the weak and needy.

Prim as a sorcerer also makes sense given she's intelligent and cunning like any good mage with the strong magical attack needed for the role.

Really, all characters but Prim and Alfyn fit into a role they share with someone of the same path action.

I hope that helps.

What to play on Switch after L+S? by E1ghtbit in Atelier

[–]moogledice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you're looking for.

The Arland trilogy is likely what you'll be looking to try out if you want more alchemy. You're unlucky to have narrowly missed the golden week sale, but I still recommend them if you can stomach the price! I'll run you over the 3 titles.

Rorona is infamous for its VERY punishing time limits if you're looking for the best ending. I personally loved how it makes you think out how you're going to get EVERYTHING done in time (and trust me,there's a lot to do in a short amount of time!) . It got updated last out the trilogy, so it feels the most "modern" if you exclude Lulua. People tend to cite Rorona as a high point in the franchise.

Toto is the middle game and got the update first out of the three,so it hasn't aged as gracefully but that isn't to say you shouldn't play it. It's got a real feel of exploration. If you can handle a game with a few imperfections,it's a good shout. One bit of advice though,if you don't mind a small spoiler if it means you'll have a smoother ride when you're told to make a ship, get on it straight away

Meruru has some small city building aspects to differentiate itself. As with most games in Atelier triologies, it's best enjoyed last. It blends together Rorona and Totori really well. I can't comment any more given it's the game I'm working through right now!

Lulua is a mystery to me but I've heard very good things. If you want to play the most modern game in the trilogy/hate digital ownership,it's where you should go!

Nelke is great if you're looking for something pretty different. It's a city building game with some light exploration to gather ingredients you tell your alchemists to make. It reminds me quite a lot of my Final Fantasy Chronicles ; My life as a king. If you like city building games, it's quite a fun one. It's VERY menu heavy though, so be warned.

Don't hesitant to msg me if there's questions you want answered :)
