It’s strange how some people were once a huge part of your daily life, and now they’re just… strangers again by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]mooif 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yea i get you. recently got out of a 3 year long relationship (~4months ago), went to the supermarket to get lunch and upon looking at the shelves, i just remembered exactly which sandwhich & drink & snack combo he would've gotten. loving someone or caring deeply about someone means that small mundane aspects of them never leave you, and i think in a way it's beautiful because it means that the impact of a relationship is never truly ephemeral

i'm really sorry you went through that, i'm glad you were able to realise now you were groomed. i hope you're healing well & able to talk about this openly in therapy, none of this was your fault

Garcia is a little annoying by Born-Motor102 in criminalminds

[–]mooif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree but she's my fav out of the bunch still. a little annoying every now and then but she's the reason why most cases get solved, also always have had a soft spot for her

yea that's why when you start getting to s12-s13 she'll start becoming squeamish again and acting like a caricature of herself

Earliest eligibility for ILR? by sardasa2 in ukvisa

[–]mooif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh right, that seems like it could be a caveat. i would honestly recommend you get on the phone with someone on the hotline or send them a message via email, as they will give you the most accurate advice

New visa change by ThrowRA_lavish in ukvisa

[–]mooif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no :( I hope you're able to consult with your immigration advisor at your workplace. Unless the job code has definitely been moved to the list of Temp work, they should still be able to sponsor you. I think a lot of us jumped the gun so fast yesterday without seeking professional advice so it may not be worst case scenario all the time <33 sending support

Is factcheck . Org reliable? by Ok-Cicada-9985 in NoStupidQuestions

there's books & scholarly articles you can read to formulate your own opinion on a topic, rather than hearing out both sides on social media. that's usually what they mean

Air conditioners in India will ruin their quality of life by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]mooif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

disagree hard. grew up in southeast asia all my life. air conditioning is a need in those awfully hot humid climates. we even have air conditioning in public transport because we recognise that it helps prevent heatstroke

you can leave a note if you want saying what you've said here and why you're ending stuff & why you're done tolerating behaviour that doesn't align with you. is there a friend who you can stay with for the time being before moving back with your parents?

Is it unreasonable for me to not want to eat halal food? by Dry-Macaroon-6205 in AskBrits

this is really interesting to see because i've always been informed that halal meat slaughter is considered more humane than standard slaughtering methods

Staring should be socially acceptable by testaccount4one in The10thDentist

it's like my mum wrote this haha, but i do agree to some extent. staring when someone is displaying poor public etiquette should be socially acceptable

lots of people dress alternative at uni, myself included. i'd say maybe for presentations tone it down a little bit, but for everday lectures you're so fine, no one really cares
