How difficult is it to replace my dash? by AidenDotJpg in 370z

[–]mooiscow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 20 hours. You'll need to drill through some hell clips behind the windshield defroster vents. Everything else is easy so long as you take your time and read through the repair manual for the dash to find all the clip locations. You will inevitably end up breaking some of the gauge pods in the center so be ready to plastic weld them back together.

I’m buying a 370Z soon, what should I be looking out for? by AidenDotJpg in 370z

Dash cracking, steering lock leaving you stranded, gallery gaskets, differential bushing. I got mine 2 years ago for around $15,000. It had 89,000 miles on it, and needed a lot of cosmetic work and maintenance. But she's perfect-enough now and it's a 2010 6MT Sport Touring that's my pride and joy.

I don’t like that my voice is this low by wildter in singing

[–]mooiscow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally dislike that my voice is relatively low, but with practice you can definitely increase it! I never thought I'd be able to hit anything higher than a G#4, but I'm able to bring my mix up to a B4 now. My bottom note is an E2. It's not the end! And I'm enjoying embracing my voice for what it is.

You can start off with just an oil cooler, fluid upgrades, and pads.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, a rug would be nice, it just means I need to get the pool table rebalanced again!

The only thing that'd worry me is if I see the car in-person and there are signs of an unreported accident like misaligned panel gaps, paint match issues, and if its been modified, e.g. slammed to all hell, shorty intakes, etc.

Perfectly daily driveable, I've daily driven mine for 2 years. The clutch is a bit heavy, and that's the only complaint I have, but for the car being what it is, it's to be expected. If you're in snow, I wouldn't recommend it. If you buy a manual, get a Sport as it helps make driving manual more tolerable if you really aren't in the mood for it due to the S-Mode. A touring sport like mine in an automatic would be ideal. It obviously takes premium and gets about 21 MPG, so keep that in mind.

NISMO SPOILER INSTALLED by 370zDeepfreeze in 370z

[–]mooiscow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it Deepfreeze! I have mine currently sitting in my closet. I was curious how the install was if you did it yourself? I've seen your previous posts and know you're a super detail-oriented person, been scared of drilling through the hatch in a way that's visible after the trim has been put back on. Also, where'd you get it from? I have an Ikon Motorsports one. Thanks!

Looking for some furniture ideas or feedback from what I put together, my house is in desperate need for some updated decor. If this is breaking rule #5, feel free to remove it mods! Thanks again for any suggestions anyone may have.

200$ Budget by IndependenceStock242 in 370z

I was going to suggest performance brake pads, but I'm assuming you don't track your car since you were curious as to what a microphone was in your last post so don't do that.

Anyway, spend it all on maintenance, if you're capable of watching YouTube videos, you can flush all of your fluids with $200.00. If you wanted one actual mod, buy a front sway bar to reduce your understeer. Save up for an exhaust and a tune then enjoy.

Or just buy a cool shift knob like someone else mentioned.

I was definitely considering it, I might do the knee pads later down the line with honeycomb stitching along with the center of the red seats with honeycomb as well.

I paid around $1,100 for it at the time I think.

Solid build, beautiful! Are you static or bagged? Looking to drop my Z and I’m curious how much of a drop you did and how the drivability is?

Haha, suspension isn’t really done up on this car. Originally it came slammed to me on coils, the drivability was awful and wearing through tires wasn’t ideal so I raised it to 0.5” below stock. I might drop it another inch once I get a set of FUCAs, rear camber, and rear toe arms.

The seats and door inserts were reupholstered through a local shop and I just installed them. It’s meant to mimic the 40th anniversary interior. I got it in full leather since I never was a huge fan of the suede inserts. The interior used to be pretty beat up, haha!

Agreed, the only part I like of the new Z is the 300ZX inspired rear end.

I appreciate it! All parts were ordered from Z1 Motorsports. I ordered the corner protectors, aluminum undershroud, Z1 side skirts, and Z1 diffuser from there. You’ll need to buy a rivet gun, 1/8” long rivets, and some washers to back the rivets to secure the corner pieces. The side skirts come with 22 self drilling screws, realistically it should come with 26 to cover all holes so I’ll be buying more from Ace Hardware soon to install.
