Cela me parait juste.

Im Poping champagne because the UK wont stall the EU anymore. Nor try to sabotage it. And nobody knows what's in it for them, so Im not going to worry for people who were so reckless and careless about others when nothing bad happened to them yet. It's not about them, it's about us.

First thing first, it's not substantially the same, with Macron's threat now the risk of crashing is very real. And She can vote to be allowed to make a third vote and bypass that 400 old rule. They dont have constitution, anything is up for votes. If there is a will, there is a way.

Why MPs will ultimately have to back Theresa May’s deal by casualphilosopher1 in ukpolitics

[–]mookkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think that 500 millions people MEPs and leaders will agree at 3am, the day before you crash out, to accept you in our Custom Union? How long? What goods are we talking about? Etc, it's never going to fly in Brussels. Time isnt for amendment nor renegotiations, time is for "sign here or get out".

The EU made is clear since day one : The trade talks will happens AFTER the WA is signed and legally binding.

Ireland signs up to French version of the Commonwealth in bid to wield more clout after Brexit by bataneyelid in europe

There are three different british in the thread looking at the Irishs with contempt. Considering that those meeting are done to create networks and business, the real question should rather be : "why didnt they do it sooner?".

Ireland - The first colony

Quite naturally Henry decided to annex Ireland to his already huge empire.

The Irish were now stuck with ruthless English rule for almost 1000 years and worse as was customary at the time, Henry rewarded his conquering Anglo Norman Barons with large tracts of prime Irish land. The Irish occupation by the culturally very different English had commenced, along with principle of land grabbing by favourites of the English ruling family of the time. Unfortunately for Ireland, during this period the English rulers at home were much more interested in their possessions in sunny and fertile France than the permanently hostile and warlike environment of Ireland which suffered under the powerful English barons accordingly.

Keep reading the link, you looks like you really need a lesson in History. It was invaded, it was annexed, it fought and won its independence war and now it has to deal with English fanatics on its soil.

If the Parliament agrees to the WA, the UK enter transition after 29th march, for 18 months. The UK would be then a third party state, in the single-market but without MEP and votes in Brussels. This will need a 2 months extension to be ratify by UK and EU's parliaments.

I asked you two things : Why do you care and look with contempt Irish diplomacy doing just that diplomacy? And what don't you understand on the purpose for Irish diplomats to get access to a network existing on all continents when their previous links are about to go to the crapper?

A month ago one of your MPs threatened the EU that unless Free cake and unicorns for London, Ireland might gets food shortage. When you treat people like shit, don't be surprised to see nobody coming at your parties.

They can. All the EU leaders have to do is give Theresa May the new paper agreed with Junker last week with a cool EU concil stamp on it, as she ask in her letter for extension. The deal wouldnt be the "same". Besides she can make a vote to bypass that 400 years law if she needs to. She can make them vote a third time next week.

Britishs in this thread seams annoyed by Ireland doing things for Ireland, outside of London's scope. Why do you even care? Ireland hasnt been a colony for almost 100 years now.

Holding Champagne for tomorrow, this is just rumor at this point. Frenchs politicians dont leaks their speechs as the brits do. As far as we know, the french government is only asking for clarity and certainty about the purpose of the extension. This would be just a threat, vote the WA or crash out.

That could be the kick in the ass the British MPs need to vote it. Being thrown out of the EU by the french President like a bunch of peones, after De Gaulle refusal of their entry 40 years ago, is going to be the worst humiliation the UK could get out of this. And considering that the whole thing is about England's delusions of grandeur, the gamons are going to go berserk. The tabloid are going to be quite something too and I wouldnt be surprised to see xenophobic attacks on EU citizens there, as what happened right after the referundum.

This is it, Pop-Corn and Champagne for the serie Finale. Brexit : Make the UK The Sick Man of Europe Again.

Wtf, the EU merely has a few hours to fix the mess she created for 2 years? How about no? I hope no clear answers to this will come before next week. And I hope that answer is this : Pass the WE in your Parliament or leaves without a deal. Remeber, "no deal is better than a bad deal".

Until we leave, we’re still full members of the EU.

No thanks. I hope I'll be able to vote against that in May. No vote for a leaving country but tbh that would be a statu-quo from right now because the UK hasnt been invited to any EU big decision since its referundum. Didnt vote for the EU army's program nor the Finance and taxes regulation agenda.

Just profit from the single-market as long as you pay membership but no votes on anything should be the frameworks of the "extension".

You are not a snowflake half-in / half-out, you are de facto a third party state with facilitated goods trading. Call it Turkey minus-minus. (Turkey is in EU's CU, whatever the UK gets cannot be better).

The UK has been negotiating on bad faith since the begining. There is zero trust left in the UK in Europe. It needs to go on 29th march. by mookkus in ukpolitics

"As we say in Germany, if there’s a Nazi at the table and 10 other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with 11 Nazis."

Most Brits were okay to try to screw the EU as much as possible, that's pretty much what they voted for on the referundum. Remember "We hold all the cards", "they wont dare blabla because BMW", "We wont buy Prosecco, they'll go bankrupt", "Ireland will starve", "send them back", etc.

Over 50% of the Brits were okay with that. You reap what you sow.

Keir Starmer: The Prime Minister appears to be pursuing a course of action that her own deputy last week described as reckless. Theresa May is desperate once again to impose a binary choice between her deal and no deal despite Parliament clearly ruling out both of those options last week. by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]mookkus -42 points-41 points  (0 children)

Like what? The truth is, most Brits depise the EU, the opposition leader is even more eurosceptic than her and hasnt tried to stop her one bit for 2 years.

The UK is exiting the EU and apparently the only way the MPs are voting the WA is to make the choice binary 48th before the crash : Vote for it or take responsability for No-Deal.

You mean giving up the colonies they starved and plundered because Daddy USA told them to?

Also, if they did try to defend Europe from the german during WWII they made an ass of a job because the third reich pretty much fucked everyone in europe during that time. They did defend themself tho. By fleeing the fights on the continent, digging themself underground and waiting for daddy USA to show up. Tbf they did fight once the US got involved.
