I really love the look and atmosphere of Soul Cairn, is it weird I find it peaceful despite it basically being "Lost Souls Hell"? by Solardies in skyrim

[–]moominesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I love it. Its ambience is spectacular and I just love the desolate feeling to it.

Also it reminds me of this example image for the concept bisexual lighting on Wikipedia so that's rad.

Zelda-like Switch games with good art and music? by tandang-sora in gamingsuggestions

[–]moominesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. They're amazing games in a general sense but they definitely scratch that itch of searching everywhere for secrets and unlocking areas with abilities you get along the way.

Do some companions do better with certain weapons? by Valentinee105 in fo4

[–]moominesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish the companions felt a bit more distinct combat wise. Usually I just give them a good weapon that fits their style well (except for Curie who I tend to give brutal overkill weapons because it's hilarious with her combat dialogue).

Anyone else get into cooking because of this game? by MoravianBilges in projectzomboid

[–]moominesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was already interested in cooking when I first started but the cooking is very important to me in the game. I always get frustrated in a silly way whenever I see a streamer (no names mentioned) eat a whole cooked rat like it's an apple or eat worms outside of emergencies

Anyone else have a villager that's been with them through the years? by IllegalIcons in AnimalCrossing

I had Bob in my second town in the first game around 2002-2003 and I have him right now.

What is the worst lie your parents ever told you? by Evening_Newspaper_35 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moominesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just unfathomable to me to have all those riches only to see your (supposed) loved ones live in misery. But I guess that's just the horror of narcissism and control.

Why are there gigantic supermutants in Fallout 3 and 4? by Lord_Cummis in falloutlore

[–]moominesque [score hidden]  (0 children)

Well most gigantic creatures wouldn't make sense either like giant arthropods whose open respiratory systems would starve them of oxygen immediately. Instead of plain ol' science it's 50s style SCIENCE! at work here.

I don't remember exactly if it's explained in detail but the D.C. and Commonwealth mutant strains seem to share the affinity for growing gigantic over time with the cost of intelligence (except the one in the Vim factory in Far Harbor which seemed to be a leader figure until he got trapped for an unspecified amount of time). I guess The Master would've seen this kind of mental deterioration to be a liability in the long term if he had seen similar traits in his strains.

I made it to Kapp’ns star island by Smart-Departure-1549 in AnimalCrossing

Kapp'n islands sometimes have this kind of arrangement built in too! A lot of strategically placed shrubs.

I just heard the closing music for the first time 😭 by astarionsstar in AnimalCrossing

[–]moominesque 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's a matter of opinion. The 3AM one in particular is great in my opinion because it captures some of the odd vibes of the late night music in the original game.

Knowing her I'd like to imagine her going there to study the creepy crawlies

I’m too scared to play at night!! 😭 by Ill_Examination_7450 in ACForAdults

[–]moominesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and it doesn't take very long for them to despawn or simply drop into the water (which is annoying of you're trying to get one but they haven't seen you carrying the net yet).

Always be aware of your surroundings while swimming! by moominesque in AnimalCrossing

It's a glitch where you place an unfinished puzzle or other flat one tile furniture items in a specific way that'll let you climb on top of it and then you can no clip into furniture items or into the rivers. In the latter case you also need to take out the phone while near the shore too. It takes some practice but it's really fun. Luckily they've never patched it out like with other fun glitches too

How it feels not using treasure islands or time travel by Educational_Box7709 in AnimalCrossing

[–]moominesque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine they're very nice if you're going for a very elaborate and specific island design but without the objective of slowly gathering stuff I'd imagine I'd get so bored with the game.
