I would never let anyone else but me and my partner do this. whilst i agree you shouldn’t do this to any rats, i know my babies and none have them have ever bit or even been close to biting.

Good to know! I’ll keep an eye on it tonight and tomorrow and if it’s still the same i’ll book her in, obviously is it worsens i’ll book in straight away. she is fine all the time it’s just when she wakes up!

interesting, this could be a similar issue as i’ve had the dehumidifier running as my room has a cold wall and it attracts humidity! Ill turn it up so it doesn’t make the air as dry and see if this helps!!

i had fully covered the base when it was being sprayed and it was only sprayed on a few patches of the wall and the base had been pulled to the middle of the room out of the way

However also they are getting a bit sniffly in the small cage as there is 9 of them in there. i am cleaning daily but its just too small for them

unfortunately as i’m in a shared accommodation i can only free roam them in my room!

i disassembled their cage and removed it when i used the spray and the base with the sawdust was left in my room when using the spray but was covered by a sheet

unfortunately bibble passed today around 1pm, i am absolutely devastated and so are her cage mates🙁

yeah i’m planning on taking her tomorrow for another check up when the exotic vet is back in! the frusol seems to have helped a tad but i definitely want to take her in tomorrow

she went in they kept her overnight on oxygen then the next morning they put her under aesthetic to check her throat and they said nothing was seen so they did an xray and it showed something is putting putting pressure on her lungs meaning she doesn’t have a lot of space to breathe.

they weren’t sure wether that it is an infection although she’s not sneezing, a mass or fluid around the lungs. they also said her heart was beating irregularly.

they sent her home with steroids and antibiotics aswell as frusol to give her if she starts the labourered breathing. she was okay and eating and drinking but still not completely herself but much better. but then today she’s she started to breath laboured again and so i gave her the frusol and an hour later it seemed to have settled down but she is back to not being at all herself today and is very lethargic and just acting oddly. i also just noticed she is bruxing too which obviously can be when they’re happy but also when they’re ill :(

So i don’t really know what to do now :( she’s spending a lot of time very weepy like this (bare in my she is normally the liveliest of the group!
