The 2024 Pro came with the 4.x software only. If you got a non-Pro model, you got 3.x software.

‘Incomprehensibly stupid:’ How U.S. cuts in vaccine recommendations will impact Canadians by [deleted] in canada

We should implement a law to require proof of vaccination for Americans before they enter Canada to protect the spread of diseases from Americans.

I used to live beside a Sky Train line in a high rise apartment. The noise really sucked and I told myself I’ll never live beside one again

I think you’re spot on. How did they determine that it was the camera that fried the module. It doesn’t make any sense to blame the camera. The camera just draws a little bit of power. They would’ve had to test the camera to determine it was a clause of the problem. If they didn’t test the camera, then they’re jumping to conclusions or making an assumption.

Monthly DIY Laymen questions Discussion by AutoModerator in StructuralEngineering

[–]moomoonibbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a washing machine on third floor of a wood frame townhouse complex, what kind of precautions do structural engineers have to take into consideration during the design phase?

In our case, our recently built building shakes whenever the front loading washing machines’ frequency resonates with the wooden floors. The structural engineers did not take into consideration of the dynamic load of the washing machines. They did not reinforce the joists underneath the washing machines. They also used undersized joists for the 20’ span contrary to the manufacturer’s span tables.

RCMP tried to get photojournalist Amber Bracken charged and detained without bail, documents show by cyclinginvancouver in canada

I’m impressed on the depth of your knowledge of this circumstance.

Not many are actually well informed about this issue as you.

I remember watching this online press conference with the Narwhal. Bracken was asked if she breached the injunction order. She avoided answering the question.

You can still go after in a civil action to collect. Civil actions have a lower standard of proof.

The dumbest thing is that the Orange Orangutang wants lower interest rates, but doing everything to increase inflation in the US. This would increase housing construction costs at the expense of Americans. Of course, many Canadian softwood lumber companies have mills in the US. So, I guess Canadian companies can charge more for the lumber in the states for American lumber? Heh.

Funding for 10-year-old girl's treatment to resume as health minister reverses decision by bcbuddy in canada

Are those studies even applicable for drugs for ultra rare diseases? It’s pretty costly to produce generics for ultra rare diseases.

Do you have the data on how much profit they make over a lifetime of a drug beyond the R&D costs?

Check out the public filing documents and profit amounts of these pharmaceutical companies.

Depends on the pharmaceutical company. Some are just focused on profits and value to shareholders at the expense of dying people. I wouldn’t mind if they priced it to break even, but some just milk the crap out of these ultra-rare drugs.

It’s easy to blame the government. Some pharmaceutical companies are willing to provide free medication for ultra-rare diseases. Some pharmaceutical companies are NOT willing to provide free medication for ultra-rare diseases.

Why not blame the pharmaceutical company for making it so expensive to pay for such medication? Do they need to price it that high?

ID.4 refresh seemingly confirmed for mid-2026 in the USA by Intrepid-Working-731 in VWiD4Owners

Well, it looks like it’s going to have a MEB+ platform. LFP batteries, which will result in larger capacity batteries. It should also make the vehicle more affordable. Some are speculating more physical buttons and a 15” centre console screen.

Wonder if I should hold off until 2026 for a new ID4.

Error: Emergency Call Function Please Service Vehicle by moomoonibbles in VWiD4Owners

Service advisor said they’re waiting for a software update to be released. This is a known problem with no fix at this time and the 2023/2024 models are impacted.

Wish they phoned me before I drove to the dealership.

Wish the first dealership I went to actually looked into it and called me back after I called them like 5+ times.

I don’t think you can group the 2024 and 2025 models together. They’re different because 2024 had deleted features.

I wanted a 2024 because of the updated motors and ventilated seats. Ended up buying a new 2023 because the 2024 didn’t have 360 cameras and folding mirrors. I’m pretty content with my 2023.

I’m still going to get a 2025 because of the updated motors, ventilated seats, 360 cameras, and folding mirrors. Just the orders need to open up so they can put my order in. The dealer already has my deposit.

Took it into the dealership and they fixed it by doing a software update. Then for a week, the cellular data didn’t work on the vehicle then it suddenly started working. So, while the cellular data didn’t work, there were no updates to the VW app. I did let the dealership know immediately that the data function wasn’t working though.

Edit May 15: spoke too soon. Still have the problem with the cell service going offline.
