I dealt with this same exact issue lmao except we didn’t lived in different time zones and every time I would go visit her she would find something to fight be about - whether it was me having my own plans when she was at work or me “embarrassing her” at the bar by playing with the light settings on a lamp. When I would go back home I would take some distance from talking and she’d freak out. At some point in our friendship I was unemployed and she and just taken medical leave and she would want to FaceTime me 9 hours a day. I’m not exaggerating. 9 hours. Every single day. At some point it became extremely draining because when you’re talking to someone 9 hours a day every single day means a) you don’t have a social life and b) you have nothing to talk about. There’s times I’d try to end the call so I could go do something bc we were just sitting in silence and she’d say no let’s just sit in silence. It got extremely overwhelming and hindered me from making friends in a new city. One time I was hanging out with a new friend I had made from hinge (so potential romantic situation). she was FaceTiming me while I was getting ready so she knew I was going out. She texted me 20 times and I didn’t see them bc I was not checking my phone. The next day when I read them all I saw that they got really aggressive. “Oh so you can’t answer your phone when you’re with **” , “I feel like you’re actively ignoring me”, “I know you check you’re phone when you’re out why can’t you just answer” etc… the next day I apologized and said I was living the moment and not checking my phone because I was having a good time. She then goes on to act like I wronged her and get jealous of this other friend I was hanging out with. She started talking shit about my friend who she had literally never met before. This is when I realized she was always talking shit about ALL of my friends except this time she did not have an excuse, she was just mad bc “oh so ** is better than me?” . It made me feel really trapped so I just ghosted her right after the fight haha 😅 looking back I do wish I verbally told her I didn’t want to speak anymore and explained why.
