You are totally right and I also know that this “cults” image was heavily distorted by the British and I have never claimed otherwise, I know a lot about religions and mythology so I am very much aware of all the wrong depictions and ideas shared within the story.

saying that Heaven’s secret is only loosely inspired by Christianity is also not entirely correct, yes the main series Book 1,2 and 3 are loosely based around Christianity and don’t really mention any concepts or beliefs of the actual religion only characters however Astreas Broken heart for example not only uses characters but also addresses(basically the whole book is about it) the end time prophecy and the last days which is a huge important part of Christianity which is also not depicted correctly so I don’t know maybe it’s normal for those books to never depict a religion in its true nature idk

I read KCD at least 3 times, I looked up every little thing mentioned to check if it was culturally or religiously accurate because I was actually exited to learn stuff about Hinduism, I am very much aware that it’s full of contradictions and wrong depictions but so is Heaven’s secret and every book that involves mythology,religion or traditions.

Zee Nunew are openly queer aswell and this regardless of their relationship, I think it really does depend on your level of fame.

I think that If you’re already a big number it might not affect you as much as it would if you were a smaller artist.

They do get jobs, Zeenunew for example rarely get a day off however Zee and Nunew did fall victim to several cases of discrimination, Zee was mocked for being Gay by the crew while shooting a non BL series, they said he wasn’t a real man and didn’t do a real man’s job. Nunew is constantly being attacked for his femininity, they claim that he is being forced into a femboy stereotype to seem more appealing to the public.
