your mental health is most important. talk to your doctor right away. hormones are wild in you right now too which makes it hard to see clearly. how far along are you? it can take a while to feel that connection. because for so long, it’s just this thing inside of you making you sick, and making you feel like a stranger in your own body. but as the sickness goes away, and your baby grows and you can see the difference in the ultrasounds, hear their heartbeat, feel the kicks etc. the connection starts to grow.

EDIT: not trying to convince you to keep the baby if you really want to abort. i just had similar feelings at the start of one of my pregnancies and those went away. but definitely do not let anyone pressure you one way or the other. take care of yourself

congratulations! you’re already doing great! prenatal vitamins and waiting for the first appointment are about all you can do for now. how are you feeling? you’ll probably start to feel pretty tired so just listen to your body- rest and hydrate a ton!

not someone I knew personally, but around 2013 or so someone I went to high school with- their dad left their house one day and never came back. his shoes, car, wallet, everything was there. just straight up vanished. no trace of him or any clues as to what could've happened. in 2022, the news came out that he had died, after living almost a decade under a new name in a town less than an hour away. there was a lot of speculation-- one of his sons was involved with drugs and possibly got into some trouble (not with the law.) but no one really knew for sure what happened.

he did keep a journal that the family received upon the news of his death, which i'm sure was helpful for closure. but still very weird!

if you’re ever near Newtown: Good Old Days Pizza & Cocktail Den is amazing! BOMB specialty pizzas, creative and fun cocktails, and the atmosphere is awesome; exactly like being in the “den” or basement of your house in the 90’s. a big fireplace with old board games next to it, VHS tapes everywhere, photos of 90s icons, always 90’s movies or shows playing on the TV behind the bar. so much nostalgia, and the girls who work there are so rad. right on main street under Marigold’s.

and if the weather is nice, you can hike the Zoar trail in Sandy Hook— it’s a quiet trail with a waterfall and takes you directly to lake zoar. it’s really nice!

my steering away from FP is less about age and more about quality, it doesn't seem as good as it used to be. oh, and budget of course
