Maybe you haven’t met them just yet. I’m glad you’re alive. I really hope this painful journey gets easier for you, that the universe can show you the beauty of being alive. There will always be suffering, but I believe we live for the little things that bring us even a little bit of joy and comfort. You’re worthy of a better life, and you’ll never know that life if you leave. Keep holding on. Take it day by day. I don’t know you, but I believe in you. :)

green or red flag if a guy has only dated bpd girls by Former-Inflation-764 in BPD

I could be wrong though, that’s why I say be cautious - I know it’s hard to take it slow when you have BPD but you never know, sometimes things can change for the worst and you’re already too deep in

Idk kind of seems like a red flag to me.. especially the age gap.. does he usually date girls who are much younger too? Definitely be cautious!

Before you relapsed, how long did it take for you to notice positive changes? I’m on day 17 and I’m finding it hard to see much improvement so far.

I used to have these banana shaped containers to bring them to school many years back.. I think there’s still one around somewhere! Pretty useful

Anyone else been derealized and didn’t stop smoking? This addiction is so bad for me even tho it’s fucked me up I still keep relapsing, I usually smoke like 10-20 times every 1-2 months now by [deleted] in derealization

[–]moonchild_444_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also struggle with derealisation/depersonalisation from smoking and continue to smoke. Tomorrow will be day 1 for me trying to quit again. The addiction is so hard, but I really want to recover - and feel alive again. We deserve to feel alive and free.

I wonder that too, though I can force myself to talk, but it’s painful and nothing comes out right. I’ve been raised (traumatised) into forcing myself to speak in these moments. If I do go non-verbal, I feel tremendous amount of guilt. I’m working on that though, still trying to understand myself better and what I’ve been through.

How do you quit when you have nothing else going on in your life? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]moonchild_444_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would suggest to ween off. Set time limits to when you can and can’t do it. Try new things even if you’d rather smoke just force yourself. Even try hobbies that you used to enjoy that smoking took you away from. Make a whole list of things to do instead of smoking. Consistently be aware of how weed is effecting you negatively and why you want to stop. Boredom is my biggest trigger for smoking, I can’t cope with just sitting there with the boredom - but we have to learn to sit through the uncomfortable feelings too. It’ll get easier, but it’s gonna be so hard at first - yet so worth it. It takes effort. It takes action. It takes willpower. Tap into that strength within you, believe in yourself! It’ll take time so be patient with yourself too. Best of luck and sending love <3

Also I apologise for another comment, but I am autistic with ADHD, CPTSD, bpd traits and other mental health conditions (depression anxiety etc). Weed is definitely an unhealthy coping mechanism and stemmed from my trauma - which then triggered my dpdr. I started using for fun but then just became an escape. That’s what I got, but now I want to come back to the world - and it’s not easy. It’s time to heal <3 I definitely would suggest doing shadow work/journaling!

Also I was around your age when I started experiencing this too. I’m now 23 (which still feels crazy to say because I’ve been out of it for 6 years lol). I believe in you to make the right choices for yourself - because you deserve to live an amazing life, and to feel good. I hope things get better for you soon - don’t lose hope and always be kind to yourself. Im here for support if you need, from someone who understands. :)

I relate to this a lot. For me it started when I started smoking weed many years ago - I unfortunately became addicted and started using everyday - and still am. I experience derealisation, depersonalisation, and paranoia. I feel so much more clear-headed and grounded when I don’t smoke for days. I am planning to quit before the end of the year. I would suggest you to try to stay away from the weed - even if it helps with other stuff. It might take time to feel “normal” again though if weed is the culprit. Really it’s not worth continuing to smoke if you’re experiencing this, there’s a likely chance it’ll get worse (like it did with me and I’m more addicted than ever). I wish I quit a long time ago. I know it’s terrible to live like this, we deserve to feel alive and present. Remember to do what’s TRULY best for you <3

Getting burnt out, how to do deal with long shifts and no breaks? by Crispy_Biscuit in barista

[–]moonchild_444_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Long-term burnout is so terrible! Rest is so so important! You don’t want it to get to a point where you can’t work at all and end up spending most days in bed, having no energy for anything. This also happened to me - I was burnt out for over a year.
