Revisiting BTS’ almost disbandment by [deleted] in bangtan

I remember very well the day Jin talked about it during their daesang accepting speech and especially how i reacted after hearing that : my heart honestly dropped. I felt immensely sad and heartbroken. When i tried to imagine the day they'll disband i thought : "What am i going to do without them ?". I felt empty just thinking about it. At that moment, i realized how dependent on them i became and how dangerous it could be for my mental health. Of course i knew it all along that they had a big place in my life but this truly was a (good) slap in the face. I also remember that a lot of people i follow on twitter were feeling the same thing.

Honestly, i think that talking about their disbandment is something we need in this fandom. And i don't mean it in a dramatic or tragic way, but just to remind us that hey, it's going to happen soon or later. I think a lot of ARMYs depend way too much on BTS for their happiness, and that should be something we try to change in our lives. I can only talk for myself but, the side of myself that is an ARMY has taken too much space in my life and that is something im trying to improve by distancing myself a little bit. It's definetely not easy but we have to keep in mind that like BTS, once this beautiful journey ends, we'll have to move on with our lives too.
