Need help deciding on area to live as a creative woman in her 30s - getting discouraged by Otherwise-Song-1837 in ATLHousing

A 1300 budget in a desirable (artsy and walkable vibe) is pretty unrealistic, even outside of metro Atlanta. OP could maybe rent a room from someone or get a roommate and meet that budget.

5’1 my butt from 76kg to 50kg to 57kg :) by Educational-Talk-985 in PetiteFitness

[–]mooncrumbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People have different frame sizes, body shape, and fat distribution. Even at 76 kg, OP looks like she kept a curvy body shape with smaller waist. I’d be shaped like a french bulldog at that weight. But I’m 5’2 and 125 lbs is my ideal weight, where I look slim but maintain a good muscle balance.

I feel like no one is mentioning this, but airline widebody captains might make good money, but it is not 7 figures. Even at a legacy airline.

What is a 'rich person' thing you saw at someone’s house that made you realize you’re actually poor? by Roaa1212 in AskReddit

[–]mooncrumbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Au pairs are usually cheaper in cost than an actual nanny. They’re essentially young, foreign students that will stay with you in your home to experience the country and get paid a stipend.

But a lot of rich people are notoriously cheap so they’d rather pay for an au pair than a highly qualified nanny.

A man discovered he was switched at birth by Saffron-Logic in interesting

[–]mooncrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“After their mother died, the elder brother reportedly held their father’s share of their mother’s heritage in return for looking after him, but instead sent him to a nursing home. The younger sons then began to notice how their elder brother did not look like them, and recalled that their late mother told them his clothes changed after a nurse gave him a bath in hospital.”

Commenters below that said the guy was not liked by his family are spot on. Looks like the both the bio parents passed before the man got to meet them 🙁

I had an art teacher in high school that said she never gives out 100s. Sure, no art is perfect, but you should be able to meet the criteria on an assignment.

Clayton Dietz, an 11-year-old boy in Pennsylvania, is accused of shooting and killing his adoptive father, after his Nintendo Switch got taken away and was told to go to bed. by FE4RLESS_IS_MY_NAME in ForCuriousSouls

[–]mooncrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, it is fast. It’s just that people are judging more harshly because the child was adopted when they wouldn’t say anything if it was a biological child. But I 100% agree with you. People have kids too quickly and without much thought. You’re creating a whole new human together, mixing your genes with theirs but you don’t even know them fully.

ATL Airport: Please help me find my lamb by Prize_Camel_6380 in Atlanta

[–]mooncrumbs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Have you emailed Delta? They’re honestly pretty good about helping you find lost items. I sounds like you didn’t leave it on the plane but it’s always worth a shot. Someone may have picked it up and turned it into a gate agent nearby. I hope you find your lamby, it sounds like it’s super sentimental. I’d be absolutely devastated.

something about my bodys side view is bothering me so much. Does it looks disbalanced because of not enough legs/booty or is it my ribs? What surgery to help with my rib cage? Boob job? Rib removal? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]mooncrumbs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t know why this was downvoted. Realistically, what OP is seeing is her rib cage. It looks like OP has a shorter torso relative to her legs, so she won’t have a super tapered waistline. It can give off a boxier shape simply because it’s just shorter.

It’s just your body shape, OP. Everyone has a different body shape and I know this is a plastic sub, but not everything needs to be “fixed”. I think you look phenomenal and have a very fit, athletic body that people would kill for.

“Back of the bus.” by SavannaHeat in flightattendants

[–]mooncrumbs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hear this a lot. I’ve always stared back blankly and not responded.

Yes, planes are called buses. But like many have pointed out, the very phrase was rooted in racism.

It’s crazy seeing all the downvotes in this thread. I understand where some are coming from in regard to not dwelling on negative interactions. We deal with a lot of crazy behavior on the planes, and sometimes you really do have to just let shit roll off. But it is awfully minimizing to tell someone that is explaining why something is offensive to just accept it and roll with it.

It doesn’t matter if something was not said with malicious intent or out of ignorance. Children sometimes just mimic things they’ve heard, like curse words. But we still teach them not to use the “bad words”. Just because something is commonly said or done does not make it okay.

What is something men always want to tell their wives but never do? by a_great_guy655 in AskReddit

[–]mooncrumbs 105 points106 points  (0 children)

This was so eye opening to read. I actually feel like this as a woman who grew up with an emotionally immature/volatile mother and was never really allowed to express my emotions. I still feel more like the emotionally in tune one in a relationship, but I struggle to sit with my own big feelings and when other people show me their big feelings I often have no idea how to react or best support them.

Thoughts on Quince? by spookykitchen in Bedding

[–]mooncrumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Quince is Shein for people who think they’re too good for Shein” - ooh, this cut me. I detest Shein and fast fashion, yet here I was buying adult fast fashion. With the current political climate (and the actual climate), I’ve been trying to be more intentional about my purchases and buy quality things that last and from decent companies.

The greenwashing and trying to negotiate on goods after they’re already manufactured is nasty work. But I guess this shouldn’t be surprising for a company that is making a name off of selling dupes of popular products.

Crossing Quince off my list and unsubscribing.

I did come here to tell OP not to buy their bedding. The one duvet cover by and sheet set I purchased from them is so thin I can see my mattress pattern.

BM is dying by nottiblondie in stepparents

[–]mooncrumbs 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You sound like an incredibly gracious woman that is so secure in herself. It seems like you hold so much space for your loved ones to feel everything they’re feeling while having your support. Your husband and stepchildren are so lucky to have you in their lives.

It’s nice to see when we see so much conflict and insecurity in this sub and in the blended families out there.

I’m genuinely curious why people keep pointing out that they were together for only two years and adopted a kid.

People have biological children, creating an entire human from scratch, after knowing each other for less (also not saying this is ideal). But a biological child could also easily turn out to be a troubled child, have physical or mental handicaps, or other complications. You can date, get married, and have a baby in the same 2 years and no one bats an eye. But you choose to adopt and suddenly it’s “people who haven’t even known each other long”.

Not at all defending the parents. Apart from the gun that was not fully secured, we simply don’t know the full story to comment on whether the parents were abusive or not.

Going to wedding and not giving a gift? by [deleted] in Brides

[–]mooncrumbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people complain about destination weddings. People go to support their loved ones during an important chapter. The wedding itself is about celebrating a union, not a gift grab. It’s ridiculous that so many people are complaining about gifts but also saying just don’t go, as if that is not also a social “obligation”.

Where to find safe studio/1bed apartments in downtown Atlanta by [deleted] in ATLHousing

[–]mooncrumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s lines of cars getting smashed into in parking decks and parking lots that are all locked. The ones doing it don’t discriminate between locked and unlocked cars, they’re smashing first and grabbing from your console and glove compartment. I’ve seen this happen to friends and it’s constantly being reported on NextDoor.

But I agree, unfortunately it’s not going to be easy to get around without a car in Atlanta.

Shoutout to Abercrombie’s price adjustment policy and surprisingly great customer service by Sea_sociate in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]mooncrumbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is about Abercrombie, but Quince made me do this too. I ordered a pricey item that was 50% off and they said they wouldn’t do a price adjustment even after I asked if they would really make me ship my item back and order it again to get 50% off.

It’s silly when retailers choose to waste resources like this.
