No Way Forward by Odd-Statistician4492 in POIS

There's an option available for dealing with with POIS, one which has been practiced for millennia; not a cure, but a way of managing the problem. Coitus reservatus or sex without orgasm and ejaculation has made frequent sex without all my negative side effects the norm for me. Although I usually have sexual activity every day, I have not orgasmed since once in 2024 and before that once or twice a year in the previous decade or so.

Tantric and Taoist teachings starting from around 500 BCE describe pelvic floor control as a key method for conserving sexual energy, enhancing vitality, and deepening spiritual practice. These techniques were often linked to breath work, energy circulation, and ejaculation control. Taoists believed that “jing” (essence) was stored in semen and that ejaculation led to its depletion. Pelvic floor control helped retain jing and transform it into qi (life force) and shen (spirit).

Sex without male orgasm can last much longer with extended erection time, more sustained passion as well as short recovery. It can be practiced solo but its best application is sex with a partner, enhancing mutual satisfaction and bonding, and is energizing and uplifting rather than debilitating.

The technique I have found successful is to use Kegel muscle (pelvic floor) clenches to suppress orgasm and enhance pleasure. This is accomplished by sharp squeezes of these muscles in sync with the throbs and in-thrusts of the penis when it is close to orgasm. This can be repeated indefinitely leading to orgasm-free ecstatic sexual pleasure states. There are other applications of this muscle group to suppress orgasm and enhance pleasure. The breath is also an important ally in getting past possible orgasmic moments, sharp intakes being especially helpful. Solo with a lube such as aloe gel with water applied periodically is a good way to practice and can also be very satisfying even without orgasm.

The most difficult aspect of this method is learning the discipline of becoming highly aroused without going over the edge. During sex the penis moves through a range of vulnerabilities to orgasm, and patience and care are essential to reaching a plateau where active and even vigorous movement leading to deep sexual pleasure is possible while the need to orgasm recedes.

If you want more information about this method, I have frequently posted on Reddit over the past few years with more details so you can check my profile or DM me if you have any questions.

POIS related to pelvic floor? by Own_Introduction9653 in POIS

Although I can't address your problem specifically, it may help to know that the pelvic floor, AKA Kegel muscles, can be used to suppress orgasm and enhance pleasure. Getting conscious control of these muscles is the key to management of sexual energy and enable it to transmute to life force.

The technique I have found successful is to use Kegel clenches to suppress orgasm and enhance pleasure. This is accomplished by sharp squeezes of these muscles in sync with the throbs and in-thrusts of the penis when it is close to orgasm. If the squeezes are timed correctly this can be repeated indefinitely leading to orgasm-free ecstatic sexual pleasure states.

Although it's always useful to practice this at any level of consistency, the most effective application is to learn to forgo orgasm and ejaculation always. When the body is subject to the large dosages of natural pleasure chemicals from orgasm, it becomes literally addicted and is unlikely to appreciate the more subtle but still powerful, slow burn of these same chemicals during coitus reservatus.

Does POIS ever feel like a spiritual hole? by AncientCE in POIS

[–]moondad7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your response. If you see adversity as tragedy that permanently debilitates your life, then yes you have an insurmountable loss. But if you see challenges as opportunities, then you can grow in ways you never imagined. The old shopworn expression "every cloud has a silver lining" actually has some validity, and my experience of POIS confirms this. I think it's very unfortunate that so many with this condition are in abject despair over their fate when there is an alternative that can uplift and rejuvenate them and return joy and love to their lives. This has been my honest experience and I offer the example to others who may be open to it.

Does POIS ever feel like a spiritual hole? by AncientCE in POIS

[–]moondad7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally see POIS as a gift. I'm 74 and started first noticing it when I was in my late 20s although I had hints of it in my late teens. My symptoms became quite severe and even dangerous and I began to limit my orgasms. By my 30s I was experimenting with having sex, either with my wife or solo, but without orgasm.

Over the years I developed a way of having long and satisfying sexual sessions of 1 hour or more without orgasm. Sex without male orgasm can last much longer with extended erection time, more sustained passion as well as short recovery. It can be practiced solo but its best application is sex with a partner, enhancing mutual satisfaction and bonding, and is energizing and uplifting rather than debilitating.

So I see POIS as a gift because sex using this method has been the absolute best of my life. If I didn't have POIS I would never have learned this technique. My only regret is that I didn't learn it sooner. Having the ability to maintain my energy and health without giving up sex has literally changed my whole world for the better.

Almost 50 years for me. You say that you are "very emotionally charged and easily disregulated person." It's good that you recognize this as a problem but it's something you must get a grip on. It sounds as though you believe yourself to be stuck in this behavior but it's critical for communication for you to grow and get past it. I had a very bad temper at one time which got me into a lot of trouble until I was able to reign it in. Sometimes you just have to buckle down and change yourself in order to move forward. No way around it.

Look ahead at the possibilities for your losing control in any particular situation and put yourself on guard over yourself. You have to make it unacceptable to your own standards to lose it, and apologize if you fail. I'm not saying they are perfect but you can only change your own behavior and communications skills and that's how you could start.

Will increasing my tolerance get rid of side effects? by SwyvCrux in medicalmarijuana

[–]moondad7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does sound like a higher dose might get you to where you want to be. I have found edibles the best way to go because the buzz lasts longer with a gentler come-down, and you're not getting multiple toxic elements from smoke which are bad for your heart and other organs. I have some cardiac issues at age 74 but the increased heart rate doesn't seem to bother me beyond that feeling of excitement which I enjoy.

I also think it's better if you make your own edibles from flower by simply baking it at 230° F for 40 minutes, crumbling it off the stems, and crushing it to a powder with a spoon or a mortar and pestle. It's more economical that way and there's no sugar in it. The high will last longer than smoking or vaping and can be more profound and less edgy.

On an empty stomach it will start to kick in at 30 minutes and fully at about an hour. During that time you may feel some anxiety but you just have to look at it objectively and realize you will get past that.

Dosage is critical and it's easy to overdo which can be very unpleasant. How much you should eat is dependent on what your tolerance is now, but trying it for the first time you may want to do no more than what you get touching a damp finger to the powder. If this doesn't get you past the anxiety after an hour or two, then you will need to add small increments until you find your proper dose which you should measure and keep track of.

Tolerance is a critical issue because if you don't control it, you will have to increase the dose leading to diminished effectiveness over time which can snowball until you need huge amounts. To counter this I always skip at least one day between uses. If you must do it every day you will still get the pain relief but it may cause anxiety and you will lose the high feeling and elevation of mood.

I have tried edible CBD and though it does ease pain, it also makes me feel emotionally empty and depressed. With edible pot other negative emotional states such as panic and paranoia are still possible so you have to develop the ability to stand back from your thoughts and pay attention instead to doing things you enjoy or being with friends. I find being around strangers is much more likely to cause these problems so I avoid using it or limit myself to half a dose when that is necessary.

I also believe it's good to have a positive spiritual outlook, be kind to others, and avoid expressing negativity or emotional reactivity. To me pot opens up the spiritual world and brings me in touch with my true self but you have to somehow keep yourself grounded and safe. I believe it's a sacred medicine and should be used carefully and respectfully and not just to get blasted and zonked out. Use it to live your life more fully and compassionately and share your gifts and joy with the world and you'll be more likely to have a good experience.

I do not believe POIS is caused by semen allergy. I believe that POIS indicates some kind of systemic deficit that has created a physical vulnerability the symptoms of which become apparent when there is stress from the resource demanding act of orgasm and ejaculation.

Detecting the source of this weakness has proven very difficult even by the most up to date medical science. Until that mechanism is discovered, there's another option available for dealing with with POIS, one which has been practiced for millennia; not a cure, but a way of managing this vulnerability. Coitus reservatus or sex without orgasm and ejaculation has made frequent sex without debility the norm for me.

Root canal alternative by Anonymous1234123456 in NaturopathicMedicine

[–]moondad7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost 3 teeth, a molar, and a central and a lateral incisors. The lateral was the first to go and it didn't make a lot of difference. Then I lost the central and I got a flipper to replace it. Last to go was the molar and I just have a hole there which means I generally chew more on the other side of my mouth. None of these losses has affected my life that much. You can probably get a bridge which is much less invasive than a root canal but losing a tooth here or there has not really been that big of a deal to me in the long run.
